Eppus Soup — Restaurant in Cologne

A unique format but I think it works pretty well. Pick & weigh your fillers, choose your broth, then add your own toppings after it's cooked. I'm pretty impressed, they've only been open for a day and things seem to be going smoothly so far. I got the Ebbus broth (non-veg) and it was pretty flavorful. My wife and daughter got the miso (veggie) broth and it was decent, but not as flavorful as mine. With a large selection of fillers from pork and beef, king mushrooms and vegan meats, and a variety of noodle types, we were pretty satisfied. Also, they have beer. I visited Eppus yesterday for the first time. Great selection of toppings for the soup! I think I got too excited and filled my bowl like crazy… it was so much food! Lasted for the next day lunch (and was still very good).

I would recommend anyone think twice about the amount, because with the stock it’s really a lot. My new tactic would be to focus on their delicious dumplings 😋 for the soup.

There’s also fresh meats to select and cooked chicken, but also nice vegan and vegetarian...

Ich bin schon öfters am Eppus vorbeigekommen und fand das Konzept sehr interessant. Also bin ich letztens rein um Mittag zu essen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und hat alles erklärt. Ein bisschen blöd war nur, dass manche Zutaten noch tiefgefroren waren und somit nicht gewählt werden konnten. 22€ für ein Mittagessen ist doch ein stolzer Preis, allerdings wird alles frisch zubereitet und das schmeckt man auch. Die Gläser für die Getränke könnten etwas größer sein, da man dieses doch schnell leer gemacht hat. Netterweise bekam ich das zweite Glas Wasser aufs Haus. Die Brühe der Suppe war sehr lecker und die Zutaten auch, nur wären mundgerechte Stücke vielleicht besser gewesen da ich ein paar Probleme hatte manches zu essen. Wie bereits öfters erwähnt ist es leider oft leer dort sodass kein wirklich gemütliches Gefühl aufkommt. Mir persönlich gefällt die verzierte Decke und der Schriftzug beim Eingang. Insgesamt könnte es aber farblich noch aufgebessert werden. Ich habe vorher noch nie so ein Konzept ausprobiert, deshalb kann ich keinen Vergleich ziehen.
