Lalem Restaurant — Restaurant in Cologne

It was our first family trip to Cologne and our first visit to Lalezar. I found this location on Google Maps prior to the trip. By luck our hotel was nearby so we could just walk to our dinner location. The restaurant is located quite centrally in the southern old town of Cologne. The interior is pretty big and spacious. The first thing that you notice is the authentic smell from the charcoal grill. The staff welcomed us friendly and took care of our wishes during the whole evening. I also got food recommendations which were spot on. We had lentil soup, a pide with cheese, some grilled köfte and lamb skewers along with some salads and mezes. The amount of food was too much of course. But it's typical Turkish hospitality. The taste of the food was outstanding and the meat was really tender. The soup was delicious and served as a large portion. We loved to listen to the nostalgic 90 Turkish songs and later to the traditional songs. The restaurant has an accessibility friendly entrance however I do not know how the wash room doors are. Would I visit this place again? Definitely yes. GREAT GREAT GREAT!! This was one of my best experiences in a restaurant. I have been to many Turkish restaurants across Europe. This one is in my top list.

STAFF: Super kind and fast staff. They care about their customers. You feel it as soon as you walk into this restaurant. We were shocked how fast they brought our order.

MENU: wide range of traditional Turkish food. Prices are lower than many other restaurants especially compared to Turkish Restaurants in Netherlands. Food is better than many of them and they charge you less here.

PRICE: 2 people ate and drank like hell and paid only €45. We often pay above €70 in...

Zu Beginn hat das Lokal einen guten Eindruck gemacht. Es war nicht sehr stark besucht, sodass man sich einen Platz aussuchen konnte.

Das Ambiente ist ganz schön, jedoch sind die Tische sehr unvorteilhaft. Der Grund dafür liegt bei der Höhe...ich bin um die 1,80m und dennoch war es im Sitzen nicht angenehm, da der Tisch etwas zu hoch war.

In unserer Gruppe waren auch kleinere Personen, die mit der Tischhöhe ein Problem hatten...sehr unbequem!

Wir haben einen kleinen Brotkorb mit vier kleinen Fladenbroten bekommen, welche wohl selbstgebacken waren plus Dip.

Dann kam es zum bestellen...es gibt allem Anschein nach Sachen auf der Karte, welche das Restaurant nicht führt! Demnach mussten wir was anderes nehmen.

Ich hatte eine Suppe bestellt, welche erst 30 min nach Bestellung kam...das Geschirr der Suppe war Plastik, welches meine ich Mirkowellenfest ist....ob oder ob nicht warm gemacht...sie schmeckte ganz okay.

Leider mussten meine Begleiter noch weitere 10min auf ihr Essen warten, sodass ich schon längst fertig war. Dafür, dass so wenig los war, eine eher schwache Leistung.

Das Timing war Recht schlecht....normal bringt man bei Gruppen die Sachen gleichzeitig oder leicht Zeitversetzt, sodass man gemeinsam essen kann.

Für die Preise und das Restaurant noch besser werden.

Wegen dem Brot zu Anfang und dem Ambiente zwei Sterne, der Rest ist für mich nicht...
