First time in germany and this was a great place to stay. Close to family there so that helps. The tram is down the road so easy to get to the centre of cologne. Its in a bit of a suburb of cologne, there are a couple of bakeries, a supermarket and pizza restaurant. Its not the best area but reasonably priced and has alot of good points.
Easy to get into the hotel, welcomed by a staff member who was working between the restaurant and hotel. Simple process of checking in. Advised where the room was. around 12 steps up stairs. The room was very clean and tidy. I noticed no dust or dirt any where. Set up with a tv, kettle, hair dryer, lamps, wardrobe, desk and two chairs.
The bathroom shower is reasonable, have to step into it. I did hit my elbows in there but im 5ft 9 maybe im just to big for this one but does the job. The shower works really well unlike some slow and hard to move ones you get in most hotels. The bathroom overall was very good, clean toilet, plenty of paper, shampoo and handwash included. We did need more handwash as it hadnt been filled. The whole place was so clean, very happy about this.
there is not a member of staff at the desk at all times. once you finish your stay you leave your key inside a box.
The pillows were a large square shape, not comfy at all and the duvet was actually what looked like thick woolly blanket inside a sheet. They did not fit properly. This is what let it down. Would have been great if they were just the standard duvet and pillows.
overall we had a good stay and would visit again. (bring our own...
Read moreI stayed in this hotel for two nights (Friday and Saturday) and I must say that the staff are very nice. There's a restaurant next to the hotel a bit pricy but with high quality food, I went just once to try and don't regret it. The breakfast is very good both in quality and quantity, it's not served in the hotel but across the street, in a bakery. The price for the single room (at least the time I was there) was cheap considering Cologne standards. The wifi was good which is something very important for me and the room was very clean.||The only not so good thing that I can think of is the location. It's not centrally located and you have to walk 5 minutes to a train station, once the train arrives you can expect to be in the city center in about...
