Jules Coffee — Restaurant in Cologne

I actually liked the Cafe, until one of the staff was extremely RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL with me. It seems she very much values SOME (wealthy, or prestigious) CUSTOMERS, while disregarding others. That is not a way to run a business.

Details: I came to the place with my laptop, thinking I could write on my thesis there while enjoying the food and coffee. I first asked if it was alright for me to stay and work there for a few hours, and was given the go-ahead by a kind member of the staff. When I needed to connect my laptop to a power outlet, I looked around the cafe, and only found one - right at the back, under a table which was occupied by a well-dressed elderly couple. The table next to them was free, so I asked them if it would be alright if I connect the cable to the socket under their table.

When she saw me speaking to them, the woman from the cafe came rushing over, and APOLOGISED to them for my interrupting them!! Meanwhile, she angrily hissed at me that I couldn't use the plug, PUSHING me toward the front of the place.

I was completely shocked and felt awful. While I was packing my things to leave, the elderly woman from the back table came over and kindly offered that they move to another table and that I could sit in the back - clearly she also felt embarrassed.

So, you can expect that the food and drinks are alright, and the service also, AS LONG AS there isn't anyone there who is more...

The service was friendly and eager to help. The coffee and food could have been better.

The cappuccino was overly milky and lacking depth with the espresso.

The omelette with feta was bland and could have benefited from butter or cream with the eggs and salt.
