Saana Restaurant — Restaurant in Cologne

I've passed by this Arabian restaurant on multiple occasions but this was the first time I ate over there. It being always busy is very telling, as the food was tasty.

The pommes had the right amount of inner creamy to outer crispy ratio. Their durum was flavourful but could have used more spice. (That could just be my Indian palate). The veggies in it were crunchy which provided a pleasant contrast to the soft firmness to the chicken. This is also the only place where I've seen them use the Lavaash bread for the durum and it was freshly prepared. It was a menu and was reasonably priced costing 8 €which included a drink. But the portion was very large and could easily serve 2 people.

The only aspect of the evening that left a sour flavour was the waiter who ignored my presence to the point of not even turning to look at me, but took my order from my boyfriend. He did not even acknowledge me when I paid for the meal. I understand the cultural aspect of it but the blatant sexism did irritate me.

So, If you are just looking for a reasonably priced good middle eastern meal, I would recommend it. However, If you are a woman be prepared...

Hideous and disastrous experience!! Would not recommend this place at all!! I ordered a plate of Döner with side plates. The first thing I would see is a piece of hair in one of the side plates. So we asked the manager to come and see. He apologised and brought a new plate. So in the new plate, unfortunately, is another piece of hair. I mean don’t they learned from it!! Before I would go there and eat, but after I would vomit or get a food poisoning. This place is not recommended for anyone. Definitely would not go...

Für den ersten Blick einladend und dann war es auch schon. Vorab angeblich Türkische Küche allerdings weit davon entfernt. Nach dem ich mich hingesetzt habe kam die Karte. Essen ausgesucht was relativ schnell ging „Döner Teller“. Es Liefen mehrere Kellner an mir vorbei, wo ich signalisierte das ich bestelle möchte, leider Verstand es irgendwie keiner. Bis ich zu einem Rief das ich jetzt gerne bestellen würde. Sehr unsympathisch nach dem Motto „mach jetzt“. Naja Bestellung aufgegeben Vorspeise kam „Arabisches Brot“ kein Türkisches was sehr trocken war und definitiv nicht frisch und kalt. Denke hier ist nach Nasenfaktor, da einige frisches warmes Brot erhielten. Naja kurz darauf kam der Döner Teller Hähnchen, was sehr trocken, gehe mal davon aus nicht vom spiess sondern von dem was vorher geschnitten war daher auch nicht warm war und die Pommes ebenfalls sehr Kalt. Die soßen reine Katastrophe warum ganz einfach: wie kann man Tzatziki, Cocktail Soße extrem Flüssig und scharfe Soße in einem Teller servieren. Hier könnt ihr euch vorstellen wie das Ganze aussah 🤮 Es redet keiner Türkisch irgendwie nur Syrer oder Iraner von den Mitarbeitern auch von den Gästen. Location extrem Laut. WC leider sehr unhygienisch z.B. die pissuars zu gedeckt mit blauer Tüte und darauf eine Rolle Zewa die man selbst abreisen muss um die Hände zu trocknen. Fazit: Niemals wieder...
