Tadım Damak — Restaurant in Cologne

The service is unexisting. We're stepping in, waiting in the queue to order, the "server" at the front guest is telling my friend to go sit until someone comes to take orders. The tables hasn't been clean from the previous costumers. I wave at the front desk but nothing ... I stand up go to by the cash desk & ask nicely if someone can clean the table as we're wating. He looks at me, says ok but doesn't do it or even ask someone to clean it... Seriously ? What's wrong with that FONDAMENTAL thing... I shouldnt even ask for the table to be clean... We're waiting some 15 minutes but nobody's coming. The table is still uncleaned yet so fare I stand up go by cash desk to grab some hand sanitizer, get some napkins, remove the dirty plates on the side uncleaned table and clean as I could anyway... 20 minutes still no one to take order. My friend vocally seize a server and ask him if we can order but he says that we have to order by the cash desk... "What??? But your mate told us to sit and wait for a server to take order..." We go at the cash desk again wait in the queue again and finally take order... Order takes an other 15 minutes to reach our table. Why did he not bring the tea we asked for... We're still waiting but nothing comes... As we leave I wanna pay by card but the cashier doesn't want to. Why ??? I mean it's 2023. Paying by card isn't a favor I was asking... I don't care if you don't wanna declare your taxes... That's none of my business... Sincerely the service was horrible. You really need a better formation for your personal specially if you wanna get a good reputation, it ruins the food experience. Don't be rude with your clients......

We were actualy going to the Beer Festival in Ehrenfeld as we accidently crossed this place. I already heard about the name from a colleague so I really didnt hesitate to try this place out, especialy if I am a fan of Baklava.

We didnt find any soul, at the restaurant which is also operated as a Bakery, as we entered this venue- hope it was just because noone stil had lunch at 3 PM.

We chose 2 sorts of the Pastry for Take Away. The funny thing was, we wanted 100gr each but as we paid the bill it turned out to be 7 Eur eventhough the price of 1 Kg Pastry is about 13-15 Eur. Apart of that wierd check, I had to admit that they were nice and smooth just the way the should be. Our ICE train departure was rerouted from Köln Ehrenfeld today and we were looking for somewhere quick and cheap to eat in the area when we came across this little gem. The super friendly staff realised from our bad German and confused faces that we were English so made such an effort to help us. We both had a really delicious fish stew which came with a basket of the most delicious and fluffy bread. We were sad that we needed to get away and catch our train so didn't have time for tea or baklava. Would really recommend this place for good and well-priced food and if we're ever back in Köln we'll visit again and try...
