Takumi 3 - Tonkotsu Ramen Restaurant — Restaurant in Cologne

We arrived to dine in on Sunday evening and it wasn’t full at all. Great, we can have a quick bite - or so we thought. We sat down and no one offered us any drinks and it took quite a while before someone took our order. We then began the waiting game and could look around and observe: The kitchen staff were busy and hectic, and there didn’t seem to be a system to the way they were doing things. Just a lot of people scurrying around filling and packing orders for takeout or deliveries, no one visibly tending to the tables. The decor inside was a cross between an old (as in run-down) diner and a fast food/self-serve joint. Only there was nothing fast about it. We waited 45 mins for our food, and when it arrived it was only lukewarm. We were surprised that right before we were served, a guest from the next table stood up to leave, declaring she had waited over an hour and still hadn’t been served (aside from her drink). Lack of service: No one checked up on how we liked it, even when we went to pay.

Overall a very disappointing experience for us, since we have been to other Takumis (in Düsseldorf and on the Ring in Cologne) and have always enjoyed the visits. Based on this visit, I wouldn’t...

We waited a long time for our food. We watched tables come after us, order food, eat and almost leave… When we asked how long it will take the waitress said it will come soon- and that the kitchen was confused with a bunch of take out orders. Finally when the food came, the order was not fulfilled correctly. We were offered no apologies and no compensation for the poor service.

The food itself was just fine. My boyfriend ordered one of the more expensive dishes and the broth wasn’t so flavorful. Very disappointing.

We are both fans of Takumi in Düsseldorf and are sad to see this branch doesn’t carry the same quality.

I know they just opened, hopefully it gets better. The team seemed hard working and were friendly.

Be careful with all the positive reviews. When you scan the review card at the table, only positive reviews go to google and the bad reviews are bounced to a private form that is then sent to just themselves. I find this...

Als ich das erste Mal das Lokal betrat, das ich auf einer Empfehlung hin besuchte, wurde ich von der warmen Atmosphäre und dem freundlichen Personal begrüßt. Der Service war aufmerksam und zuvorkommend, stets mit einem Lächeln und einer hilfsbereiten Art, die den Besuch zu einem angenehmen Erlebnis machte. Es war jedoch bedauerlich, dass ich während meines Aufenthalts nicht gefragt wurde, ob ich etwas trinken möchte. Dies ist ein kleiner Serviceaspekt, der leicht übersehen werden kann, aber dennoch wichtig für das Gesamterlebnis ist. Ein weiterer Punkt, der erwähnenswert ist, ist der Preis. Mit 16,80 € für das Hauptgericht liegt das Restaurant im höheren Preissegment. Obwohl die Qualität des Essens außer Frage steht, schien der Preis im Vergleich zur Portionsgröße und dem, was allgemein erwartet wird, etwas überhöht. Zusammenfassend lässt sich sagen, dass das Restaurant ein Ort ist, der durch seine Küche und seinen Service besticht. Trotz der kleinen Kritikpunkte würde ich das Restaurant weiterempfehlen, da die positiven Aspekte überwiegen und es ein Erlebnis ist, das man sich nicht entgehen...
