I made a reservation for 5 adults on a Saturday night. The restaurant is small, so definitely make a reservation for busy nights. We ordered a variety of their special rolls (shown in photo: Green Drache, Red Drache, Black Drache, Salmon Cheese, Tempura Salmon -- not shown is the Rainbow Roll and Spicy Tuna), plus the large sashimi mix. Everything was wonderful and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant. The price was also very reasonable in my opinion (about 130 Euros inclusive of 2-3 alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks per person). My husband and I enjoyed it so much that we went back two days later before leaving on our drive back home to Switzerland. We will definitely visit again next time we are in Duisburg to visit his family.

I reccommend the best tasting Tori Karaage Don I have ever had here in Europe! It's so authentic as the owner is a Japanese. Chicken is so tasty and crispy. They used Japanese rice and the sauce is so amazing. Ambience inside is really pleasant and staff were humble. Unfortunately toilet usage is not possible. One can use EC card for a minimum of 10€, while debit/credit cards for a minimum of 15€.

Mein Partner und ich waren gestern zum ersten mal hier essen und es hat sich definitiv gelohnt. Wir haben beide mehrere Sachen gehabt, einmal das Ebi Tempura, das Rainbow Sushi, das Beef Udon, gebratenen Reis mit Hähnchen und zum Nachtisch haben wir Mochi bestellt. Die Wartezeit ging voll klar, wir mussten nicht unnormal lange warten. Wir haben bei Ankunft auch direkt einen Platz bekommen. Sämtliche Speisen waren unglaublich gut. Wir hatten sowohl Sake als auch Japanischen Grünen Tee, beides davon hat sehr gut zum Essen gepasst. Das Personal war freundlich, man hat sich richtig willkommen gefühlt. Und das Ambiente war sehr schön. Im Hintergrund lief die ganze Zeit leise Musik, welche sehr entspannend war. Die Musik war nicht zu laut, sodass man sich noch Unterhalten konnte und in ruhigen Momenten konnte man die Musik genießen. Der Laden ist relativ klein, aber der Platz wird gut genutzt und das Dekor ist sehr ansprechend. Ich kann es hier nur empfehlen, auch als jemand der sonst eher selten asiatisch essen geht.

I and my husband were here at 6pm on 7th January, 2023. We called for a reservation. When we arrived, another couple also came and got seated at the same time with us. Everything seems fine until we had to wait SO long for our food. When the couple who came and sitted at the same time with us already finished their food, paid and left, we just started getting our first dish. One hour waiting for a plate of sushi and a bowl of noodles??? Insgesamt ein nettes kleines Lokal für einen schnellen Imbiss mit sehr nettem Service.

Das Sushi ist von guter Qualität für deutsche Verhältnisse, aber nichts was wirklich beeindruckt.

Die anderen Gerichte entstammen zum größten Teil der Tiefkühltruhe.

Leider verpasst das Lokal in meinen Augen die Gelegenheit sich durch größere Authentizität im Dschungel der Asia Imbisse abzuheben.

Da gibt man sich den Namen des wohl berühmtesten Ramen-Ya der Welt und bietet keine Ramen an!? Wie kann das sein?

Stattdessen gibt es im "Japanese Grill & Sushi" dann vietnamesische Pho Reisnudelsuppe,die unvermeidbaren chinesischen Convenience Mini Frühlingsrollen und Eisbergsalat mit Tomaten und Cocktaildressing als Beilage.

Auch wenn das Restaurant von Chinesen betrieben wird laut Impressum, täte wie gesagt eine klare und um Authentizität bemühte Linie dem Restaurant sehr gut.

Warum nicht statt gefühlt 100 American Sushi Roll Varianten, eine kleine Auswahl echter Donburi wie Gyakudon, Oyakodon und Tondon?

Warum nicht eine kleine Auswahl an gut gemachten Ramen, für die viele extra nach Düsseldorf fahren?

Man kann sich solche Veränderungen zu mehr echter japanischer Küche nur wünschen, denn so ist das Ichiraku leider nur ein Asia Imbiss der auf Nippon Cuisine macht und dabei nichts halbes und...
