Ristorante Don Giovanni — Restaurant in Erfurt

This review is JUST for the adjoining Gelato shop which I believe is connected to the restaurant. The gelato itself was good and my wife enjoyed her milkshake. That’s the best I can say about this establishment. The gentleman that minded the shop was simply rude. He seemed annoyed with us that we walked in as he was forced to leave his friends at a nearby table. He took a phone call and went back and forth between us and his phone, which made the entire exchange quite awkward. When I offered my credit card he was very short with me…mind you I didn’t see any signs that state “cash only”. We returned with cash and his impatience made my wife uncomfortable. Needless to say, I will never return there and for the prices you can get better gelato near Erfurt’s city center. I can’t comment on the restaurant itself, though I will say the food looked good. So maybe give the restaurant a try and avoid the gelato shop. Who knows, there might be nice folks that mind that shop on other days. I recently visited with my friends, and we had an extremely disappointing experience. Despite arriving within business hours, we were rudely asked to leave, being told that the time was over. Shockingly, we noticed that the staff continued to serve other customers who arrived after us, all of whom happened to be German.

This blatant act of discrimination left us feeling humiliated and unwelcome. As an Indian living in Germany, I expect to be treated with the same respect and fairness as everyone else. Discrimination based on nationality is unacceptable and illegal.

I strongly advise others to think twice before supporting a business that engages in such discriminatory practices and rude It's essential for establishments to treat all customers with equality and respect, regardless of their background.

I hope they learn the manners and encourage others to avoid this...

I don't know how the food tastes, or how the service is. The ice cream guy was extremely rude. I can't believe how he is allowed to work at service:

We bought two ice creams and he kinda messed up mine. Couldn't put 2 rolls of ice cream on the cone straight and as we were counting money with partnee he rushed us to take the ice creams. When i told him that my hand was full, he told me that i have two hands. Well i had small garbages in my second hand.

He didn't give us any napkins even though i asked. Well done saving 2 cents. Also spoon costs 40 cents. He also smoked next to us as we sit. Didn't even wash his hands afterwards.
