We came here for coffee and a croissant, which were nice. However, it was when we were finished that things went downhill. While we were paying, the employee had some trouble operating the card machine. We waited until she ensured us that the payment was successful, and we proceeded into the museum. While in the museum foyer, another employee ran in after us, telling my companion "Sie haben noch nicht bezahlt". This was naturally a bit embarrassing, but we followed her back to the restaurant, assuming perhaps the payment had not gone through. We were charged again, this time a larger amount than our previous transaction. We obliged and then went back to the museum. My companion checked her banking app and found she had been charged twice in the restaurant - the payment had successfully gone through both times. We went straight back and she explained this. The owner understood and refunded her for the first transaction. The explanation as to why we had been double charged was strange and did not make a lot of sense to us - they said that we had initially paid the amount spent by a party at the same table the previous day. However, surely an old transaction would have been settled and cleared from the system? My companion was quite upset as she felt that perhaps the employees had tried to make up for an error where they had forgotten to charge a table by charging us twice, and hoped that we would not pick up on it as we are not native German speakers. Read moreLeider enttäuschend, wir waren um 11 Uhr schon dort und ich konnte einen Kaffee bestellen, aber nicht den Kuchen und die belegten Ciabattas obwohl diese schon in der Auslage bereit standen. Das geht erst ab 12 Uhr. Nun gut sie werden Gründe haben 🧐.
ab 12 dann Essen bestellt Penne al arrabiata mit Knoblauch, dem konnte ich selbst mit Salz und Pfeffer kein Leben einhauchen, nichts scharf und kein Knoblauch.
Auf die erste Frage der Bedienung ob alles gut sei, bemerkte ich schon dass es nicht so ist, aber da war die Gute schon am nächsten Tisch, also weiter essen denn ich hatte ja Hunger und einen Termin. Beim Abräumen der Teller und der wiederholten Frage ob alles gut war, bekam ich nur schnippische Antworten. Ich mache der Bedienung hier keinen Vorwurf, sondern der Leitung die das Personal anleitet und schult.
