I recently dined at Copper Bowl, a South Indian restaurant known for its delectable dishes and authentic flavors. My visit, however, was marked by a series of disappointing encounters with the restaurant's service, which left me with a sour taste in my mouth.

First and foremost, I was taken aback by the refusal to accommodate a simple request for extra sambhar. In a cuisine that prides itself on its vibrant array of flavors, it was disheartening to have my request denied. This lack of flexibility contradicted the very essence of hospitality that one expects from a restaurant.

Furthermore, I was left astounded when some of the dishes I had ordered were denied to be served due to the purported "rush time." While I understand that managing a busy restaurant can be challenging, it is customary for eateries to honor their commitments to customers who have made reservations in advance. The denial of certain dishes felt like a breach of trust, and it was disappointing to see a deviation from what is considered a good practice in the hospitality industry.

Adding to my dismay, a friend of mine had shared her own negative experience with the restaurant on Google reviews. To my surprise, the management seemed to have taken a concerning approach in response. They not only found my friend's contact information through social media but also contacted her to request the removal of the negative review. This blatant disregard for customer privacy raises serious ethical concerns and tarnishes the credibility of the establishment.

While the food at Copper Bowl was decent, the lackluster service overshadowed any potential positive experiences. As a patron who values the fusion of flavors and the essence of hospitality in South Indian cuisine, I hope that the management takes these feedback points seriously. It is crucial to address these issues and uphold the standards of service and privacy that are expected in any reputable dining establishment.

In conclusion, my visit to Copper Bowl left me disappointed due to the refusal of a simple request, the denial of dishes during a busy period, and the inappropriate handling of customer feedback. It is my sincere hope that these concerns are addressed promptly, so that future patrons can enjoy a truly fulfilling and satisfying experience when dining at this South...

Copper Bowl in Esslingen is a true gem for anyone craving authentic South Indian vegetarian food. From the ambiance to the flavors, everything about this place radiates the warmth and richness of South Indian culinary traditions. We sampled a variety of dishes, each of which was exceptional. The dosa platter was a standout, with a beautiful assortment of dosas, each with its own unique flavor and texture, complemented perfectly by a variety of fresh chutneys and sambars. We also tried the South Indian Thali, which offered a complete meal experience with its balanced spread of curries, dal, rice, chapati, and sides. Every component was flavorful and authentic, providing a delightful mix of mild and spicy options that truly showcased the diversity of South Indian cuisine. The classic masala dosa was simple yet outstanding, with a crispy exterior and a flavorful, spiced potato filling that paired beautifully with the chutneys and sambars.

For drinks, the masala tea was perfectly brewed, reminding us of the authentic chai back home with its aromatic, refreshing flavor, and the salt lassi was thick, creamy, and a refreshing balance to the spices in our meal. The curd vada, soaked in thick, creamy yogurt with just a hint of spice, was especially comforting with its perfect tanginess and mild heat, while the medhu vada was a textural delight—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and served with fresh coconut chutney and sambar.

The service was excellent: attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. The staff was happy to recommend dishes based on our preferences, and the cozy ambiance, with touches of traditional South Indian decor, added to the charm. Copper Bowl is a must-visit for anyone who loves South Indian food or wants to explore new flavors. Every dish was meticulously prepared, authentic, and bursting with flavors that transported us to the heart of South India. We left completely satisfied and eager to return. Highly...

A South Indian’s Homecoming at Copper Bowl, Esslingen

After months of longing for the familiar tastes of home, stepping into Copper Bowl in Esslingen felt like a true homecoming. As a South Indian living far from Bengaluru, I’ve often found myself craving the comfort of crispy dosas, the tang of sambar, and the warmth of coconut chutney; the flavours that remind me of family gatherings and bustling street-side tiffin stalls.

The moment I entered, the aroma of roasted spices and curry leaves instantly transported me back to my mother’s kitchen. The décor was simple, but the copper accents and welcoming smiles from the staff made me feel at ease—almost like being a guest in a friend’s home.

What truly set Copper Bowl apart was the authenticity. The food wasn’t adapted or watered down; it was unapologetically South Indian, with all the bold spices and unique textures I’d been missing. The staff were friendly and attentive, happy to chat about the dishes and share their own stories of South India.

For anyone who’s been away from home, food is more than just a meal but it’s a connection to memories, culture, and comfort. Copper Bowl gave me that connection. I left with a full heart (and stomach), grateful to have found a place that brings a slice of South India to Esslingen.

Since then, I’ve been here on several occasions, be it a random evening outing with friends, or their famous Sunday brunches and the trademark festive plantain leaf meal for Ugadi, Onam and Sankranthi so far. And I’m sure I’ll keep coming for more!

If you’re a South Indian missing home, or simply curious about authentic flavors, Copper Bowl is a must-visit. It’s not just a restaurant; it’s a little...

**if you are an hungry south indian and looking for good sized meal to satiate your hunger i would suggest to look else where** I recently visited Copper bowl with 5of my friends …and was unfortunately disappointed with the portion sizes. While the quality of the food was good, For the price, I expected a more generous serving, but what I received felt more like an appetizer than a main course. The flavors were enjoyable, and the service was friendly, but the small portions made the overall experience less satisfying. It felt like the restaurant was cutting corners in terms of quantity, which is disappointing given the cost. We ordered meal with… dosa, idli, wada and pakoda… they havent even given atleast two full spoons of chutney considering the items … when asked for the extra chutney… we were informed that we will have to order again from the menu… We again ordered two chutneys, and my friend wants to cancel one chutney… for which they denied saying once it is ordered they cannot cancel it citing the tax constraints.. we could understand if the dish had to be prepared and we cant cancel… here we are just talking about chutney which is pre made..a picture is worth a thousand words… just attaching a picture of sambar bucket.. how they are trying to cut corners to fool the customers in terms of quantity. The bucket is of the height of the spoon but the inside depth of the bucket is of spoons head. The quantity of rice in the rice meal is also pretty small. My female friend had to order one more bowl of rice.
