Probably the worst beer and the rudest service in all of Germany. We went there on a friday night and ordered a pint of Guinness and half a pint of Kilkenny, and when the beer arrived, it was weak and flat. The Guinness tasted as if it had been diluted, and the Kilkenny as if the beer pump and pipes were in severe need of a thorough cleaning. It was barely drinkable. When we mentioned this to the barman, he said 'Well, you ordered it yourselves, so if you don't like it, it's really not my problem. Maybe you should go home and brush your teeth before drinking it.'
Very efficient way of losing customer's patronage, thank you very much. Never setting foot there again.
Oh, and incidentally ... behind the bar were stacks of canned beer which looked as if it had been bought in one of the nearby tax free border shops and now were being sold...

Cozy, friendly, relaxed ...... and absolutely mad and CRAZY fun for St. Paddy's, Rum-Regatta, Halloween, and every other fun holiday! :) I admit - I'm rather indifferent to sports, so I really do not care about the big games and events they usually show on a big screen. The good part is, the place is still fun if you don't watch the game (or whatever is on) :D The super-friendly owners (farther and son) made me feel at home from the moment I walked in the door the very first time - and they have ever since. I (sadly!) only get to visit a couple of times a year, but it's always a pleasure, and something I always look forward to! Be it weekdays or weekend, busy or not - McMelsons is always the place to be...

And if there is nothing for you in the menu, just ask the owner - he will invent a drink for you on the spot. Also: Great music, if you tend more to the alternative stuff. A Must See and Must Be There for everybody...
