Peter Pane — Restaurant in Flensburg

The food was quite alright. Decent burgers but the salat was quite bad. We arrived 19.15 and got our burgers 20.40. We were told that the food would be ready in 30-40 minutes when we ordered. 50 minutes later no one had told us anything and we hadn’t gotten any food. We asked multiple times when the food would be ready and got different dismissive answers. One waiter told us that it would be ready in 10 minutes. The burgers first arrived 25 minutes later. Without any doubt the worst waiting time I’ve experienced. Now it’s 20.55 and we still haven’t received our French fries. The staff was of course very apologetic. But I’d argue that it’s customary to offer some kind of compensatory gesture, something like a free item or whatever. But it’s more about the principle of owning up their mistakes, which this restaurant in now way did. Later after having received the rest of our meal we specifically asked for some kind of compensation. We were told that the waiter had to confer with a colleague. We were offered free hot drinks or desserts. Since we were quite irritated we refused and would like a discount on the bill. The waiter once again had to confer with a colleague. They offered us a 10% discount. We expressed our dissatisfaction and eventually they agreed to 50%. So that is of course a very acceptable compensation. The waiters told us that the kitchen was very busy and that they had had a lot of online orders. It is very understandable that kitchens can get busy, but this is in every way unacceptable. A restaurant shouldn’t accept more customers or orders if they aren’t equipped to...

I went with my parents here today, and we did not have a pleasant visit.

First of all, it took over 45 minutes for us to order our food. It was nothing major and 2/3 burgers were the same. After we finally placed our order, we waited patiently at our table outdoors. We saw that it was a busy day and kept our complains to ourselves as time passed. After about 50 minutes, my parents and I, started to politely ask how long it would take for food to arrive. Since all the tables around us got their food, ate their food and paid for their food, before we got ours. including those who came long after us.

Second of all, it then took the kitchen 30 minutes after that to get us our 3 burgers, one serving of lukewarm fries and one serving of onion rings.

We get that it was a lot of people and chaos at the kitchen, but no one came to our table and explained the situation. Our server did not use his time to apologize, ask if we wanted more drinks, bring cutlery and it we also had to go inside to get another waiter to ask for our check.

I took my parents to this place because I got the impression that this was a place with fast and good service, a pleasant atmosphere and great food. Although we did we one free dessert to go, it did not fully compensate for our time loss and...

I've been to this restaurant several times, and used their delivery service once. I must admit that I do generally like the Peter Pane chain of restaurants. And this location is excellent. Staff have always been friendly, attentive and really helpful. If able they will go the extra mile if you have special requests regarding food or delivery and also offer tips and what to see nearby. It can be a little bit hidden away if you're on the main shopping street, but it's deffinitely worth looking out for! Food has always been very good here and we certainly visit here whenever we're in town, even if just for a few hours. Oh, and yes, you can buy bottles of their sauces and dressings to take home! ;-)
