Minerva Restaurant / Bistro — Restaurant in Frankfurt

The "Minerva" is the cafeteria of the Max-Planck-Institute for Brain Research, but open to the public. The lunch menu changes weekly and usually contains the options salad, soup, pasta, vegetarian, meat and fish, many of them with an original twist to the recipe. The food is of excellent quality and freshly prepared - definitely a cut or two above the usual cafeteria fare, well worth the slightly higher price (compared to Uni mensa) and a short wait. I love coming here for lunch. This restaurant has a weekly changing menu and everything on there is delicious. The food is very high quality and freshly prepared and the prices are very reasonable for what you get. Some dishes might cost more than 10€, so it can add up quickly if you go here for lunch every day, but you would pay much more for such food in other restaurants. Öffentliche Kantine (Selbstbedienung) im Erdgeschoss des MPI am Uni Campus Riedberg. Die Speisenauswahl (~3-5 warme Gerichte) ist abwechslungsreich, Vegetarier bekommen mehr als den üblichen Salat- oder Beilagenteller. Preislich liegen die Hauptgerichte mit 5-8€ im Mittelfeld. Eis und Sandwiches werden ebenfalls angeboten, außerdem wechselnde Nachspeisen (Kuchen, Waffeln) sowie frischer Joghurt (z.B. mit Früchten) und frische Säfte.

Bei der Inneneinrichtung dominieren die Farben weiß und lila, die Möbel kommen sehr modern daher. Eine Wand ist komplett verglast, sodass der Raum sehr hell und einladend wirkt. Man blickt auf einen kleinen Vorgarten. Zur Mittagszeit bekommt man mitunter keinen Sitzplatz, daher probiert es besser eine halbe Stunde vor oder nach zwölf. Für Kinder gibts keine Extras (z.B. in Form von Hochstühlen), wir hatten aber nie Probleme beim Mitbringen.
