NICO’S KITCHEN — Restaurant in Frankfurt

I wanted to try out this place for a while, it looked very nice from outside and always busy. I was somewhat let down though, It wasn't bad but not good neither.

The service: Pretty OK, but they were way too few for too many customers so our experience wasn't great. On a less busy day I guess it would have been fine, but our particular experience wasn't good. Of course they were polite and all, but slow and forgetting things. I think they need to allocate more resources on busy days.

The setting: Not good due to renovations work in the background. Also furniture outside felt somewhat cheap. Practical but not really an experience I could enjoy. Maybe once they finish renovating it would be better.

Food: I found it average. Some dishes good, some not so much. I would give it overall 2.5/5 considering the prices.

So overall our experience wasn't so bad but I don't think that I would come again soon. Maybe for a quick Pizza and drinks after work is good, especially after they finish renovation, but definitely not for a nice dinner to celebrate something...

This restaurant has a cosy atmosphere and the food is good, too. I visited it at 21:10, not knowing the closing time 21:30 because most restaurants along Europa-allee open until 10h or 11h. As we were guided to the seats without the closing time info. We only figured it out when the staff wanted us to choose foods quickly together with the drinks. Looking back I should have moved to another restaurant instead of eating hurriedly. It might have been better if we had been informed of the nearing closing time at the entrance. Yes, the staff told me later we could stay as long as we order food before the kitchen closure but having the time in mind we couldn't enjoy the dinner, unfortunately.

I should have checked the opening hours. I am sharing this to prevent any similar cases both for the restaurant and...

We went Sunday evening for dinner. Optically it's a nice local place where the owner is super involved and you will get to know him directly. Service is nice and pays attention to their customers. They take the order fast and I think the waiting time for entree and main is on point. We had dishes from the day card and were absolutely pleased. The pizza dough was thin and for me personally exactly how I like it, crispy till the center, evenally backed and tasty. The meat for the ribeye was according to price and also cooked exactly medium how we ordered it. Overall there is nothing to complain about but maybe the name of the pesto which was awesome but Noone told us. For me it is the restaurant for the neighborhood and I see why it is there for quite some time. Check it...
