I stayed for three nights in late July.||Check in was indifferent by unmotivated brunette young man. I booked superior king room and was hoping for upgrade to junior suite as hotel was virtually empty and I am gold member. Apart from Chinese tourists and Singapore cabin crew there was nobody else there. To no avail. He just would not even bother. Upon learning my room allocation was on 2nd floor I insisted he moves me to top floor which he reluctantly did. It felt I was the only person on that floor, I never met anyone else on the corridors. Why not ensure you give guests maximum experience if you can as hotel is far from full occupancy? My room rate included complimentary mini bar but upon floor change I had to chase it as it was empty. They also brought gold member welcome snack which was nice. They provide complimentary water.||Hotel has lovely outdoor terrace on 7th floor (no food or drink service).||Location of hotel is good for ride to the airport by uber (15 min), train station (15 min walk) but not for anything else. If you like to walk like me, it will take you 30 min to reach any sights. Otherwise you can take Messe U Bahn. ||Upon arrival I took the train from the airport to the Main Station (Hbh). 10 min journey costed 19.50 Euro which was steep. Then you walk through really doggy area of central station, I really don’t recommend it. You also need to pass this area to go to the centre, not ideal for solo woman traveller I was in Frankfurt. I did not hesitate to book uber on the way back at merely 10 Euros more (30 Euros total). ||Room did not feel much of four star but was clean, practical and really spacious with sofa. Windows open fully, it is four of them and it is quiet at night. ||I had bath/ shower combination with good water pressure. I did not like sqeezy wall mounted toiletries. I don’t find it hygenic to sqeeze these bottles…||For this room category hotel provides sleepers but not bathrobe. I chased it to no avail. Sorry for second most expensive room type they need to fix it in four star hotel. Quality of towels is Holiday Inn.||I ordered rosti in the restaurant once as it is a Swiss chain. It was expensive, terrible and had nothing to do with this dish. There is a reason why this restaurant is constantly empty.||Overall I would stay again for quality of sleep snd spacious room. The value in July was also good compared with other...

I'm updating my review and upgrading the rating in light of the measures that Movenpick has gone to make up for the negative experience I had.
They have been in constant contact, and have taken great care to make sure I am more satisfied with my stay.
Thet have rectified the situation to my satisfaction, for which I am grateful.
---Original review --- I'm loath to leave a negative review as I still one more night left in this hotel, but in this case there was no other option.
My 1st warning flag was at the front desk, when they could not find my reservation that I had made months ago. I even showed them the reservation number that they had E mailed to me, and the reminder that they had E mailed to me less than a week ago. After a bit of searching they finally found my reservation that they couldn't find before.
Upon entering the Room, everything seemed ok at first, but when I went to inspect the bed, which I always do, I found what seemed to be dirt in the bed. It looked like lint, but was firm, and broke apart. I contacted the front desk who assured me that they would take care of the situation immediately. After approximately 2 hours of waiting, the issue had still not been resolved, so I took matters upon myself, and carried the linens to be laundered at the local laundromat.
Once I returned, and remade the bed with the now clean linens, I went to shower only to notice the moldy waterspots where the wall meets the ceiling, and the strange substance on the wall next to the sink.
Another issue I encountered was that when I booked, I booked during a promotional period that granted me a €20 voucher in the restaurant. This was confirmed by the front desk upon them finally locating my reservation upon check in. However, when I went to the restaurant, they claimed that I had no such voucher attached to my name. I checked back with the front desk again, who in turn told me that I did have one. The restaurant still denied that I had one.
I still have one more night to go here, if things change for the better, I will...
Read moreA hotel that has no hospitality. To be greated by a receptionist whilst her colleagues sat around the back office and leave you standing/waiting at the desk for 10 minutes, while they play around with the computer. Not greated warmly. Then told I had to wait another 45mins for my room(3pm). Even though I pre told the hotel what time I was landing and arriving. I don't think 2.15pm is asking alot. Didn't check to see what they could do etc. Just said we'll if you pay you can get a room quicker. We'll how much then, let's go, I want to get changed as I have meetings. 30euro ontop. What's the fuss? Wheres the hospitality? Have your 30euros. I shouldn't have expected any better as it is a budget hotel. Dirty rooms in need of an update. Not even a bar to get a drink in. Opens at 5pm. So difficult to meet and greet people if your expecting visitors. I only stayed here because my business colleagues was. I wish I had chosen the better more expensive hotels in the area.Rule number 1. If you want to work in the hospitality sector...be friendly and go the extra mile...it makes up for where you lack. And get some English TV channels, French news in English isn't really good viewing. Remove the hairdryers by the sink that don't work and get rid of the dirty carpets. And before you reply with some lame excuse like all the 1star reviews how you will try to do better for the next time I visit. I won't and advise others to upgrade in the area to a...
