Taverna Alpha — Restaurant in Frankfurt

If you’ve been to Greece and appreciate its culinary, you’ll know that this restaurant also offers an authentic gastronomic experience, like you were indeed in Greece. I’m not Greek myself but I’ve been to Taverna Alpha with my Greek/German partner and the meal was approved by him and classified as “authentic”. My little experience of two summers in Greece help me to say the same. The restaurant also is nicely decorated, somewhat hidden from the big crowds in Frankfurt - even though that during my visit, the restaurant was full and a few guests waited patiently to sit on their charming outside area -, and the hostess, probably the owner, is there to make you feel very comfortable and welcomed in his greek world. I will definitely be back to try another options...

If I could give 7 or 8 stars for the food, I would! I had grilled fish of the day on a bed of greens and garbanzos. The blend of flavors was delightful. Walnut cake is HEAVENLY. Service was attentive and very friendly (though my server forgot to bring dessert until I asked again.) I sat outside because the dining room was absolutely full--and in times of Covid, outdoors suits me better. Inside also can be a bit noisy when crowded with happy guests. Update - downgrading one star: As a regular guest I visited the restaurant today again and I have to say there were two points that I really did not like: had the vegan bifteki and the tsaziki was not sufficient in terms of size. An extra portion cost 5.40 - for me this is a no-go. we normally get Ouzo as a farewell drink and other guests had it as well, but we did not

One of the best restaurants in Frankfurt! Outstanding service, staff and food.

I can highly recommend it! Especially the starter...
