This hotel charged my credit card without my permission for no good reason!||||There were several incidents that led me to understand that the hotel manager does not care at all about his customers - just about seizing every opportunity to get their money.||The worst incident was that they charged me 150 Euros (!!!) just because my room key accidentally stayed with me after checkout. THEY made the mistake of checking me out without asking for the key (they didn't even notice until I called to tell them when I found it with me), THEY told me it was ok to mail it to them on the next day (which I did, on my own expense), and THEY didn't make sure they have a spare key. Pension - Gastatte Paradies is an odd place. Staff tend both the hotel and restaurant from the restaurant. Everyone is quite busy and it's hard to get anyone's attention. Our room was wonderful. We had AC and a huge bathroom. However, our friends had a nice room with a balcony but one that was shared with two other rooms. It was quite warm in Freiburg and there was no AC in this room. Our friends did not feel comfortable leaving their patio doors open for air and because of this were quite warm during the night. From this hotel it is a fairly short walk to the old town. However, since staff were quite busy we had a hard time getting good directions. In short, if you get the right room it's great. But be advised that you'll get little...
