Thanners - Göttingen — Restaurant in Göttingen

Three friends went to this place and two of us were waiting at the bar to order. We started to give our order to the bartender with blond hair who was taller compared to the others. My friend next to me gave his order in German, while I started to give my order in English, the bartender left us without listening to me and started to deal with other customers. While my friend and I were talking about how rude this was, we called out to another bartender and were able to completely order 3 beers. Then we got our beers and sat down. Later, the rude one came to our table, stated that he actually took our order and brought 3 more beers and said that we had to pay for them since we ordered twice, otherwise he would throw us out. Frankly, we were shocked with this approach and tried to explain ourselves. But he didn't change his mind and said that he wouldn't do anything this time but that he didn't want to see us at that bar again. If he hadn't been so aggressive and ridiculous, we would have ordered another 3 beers in half an hour anyway. However, I will never go here again and I don't recommend anyone who doesn't speak German...

I was here a few times, the staff was rude and prideful every time. I am a friendly person, but I do not accept that 40c less for a beer compared to other bars gives the waiters the right to be so rude. Once, I took a bottle of water from my bag, as I had an itchy throat, (having had ordered some rounds of payed for drinks) and the waiter came and told me he will "throw me out" if he sees me again. This was uncalled-for rudeness that I have not experienced in other bars nor cafes in the country. Further, my international friends then told me that they have been treated with rudeness and an alarmingly raised voice from waiters for not speaking German. This is not acceptable in the hospitality business. Third, the toilets are in very bad condition (strong sewage smell that can be sensed up to the bar). I believe guests return here only because of the location. I suggest to go to one of the other nice bars...

Very low quality service and rude behavior! We went there in 4 with place reservation. The bartender had placed us at the bottom of the bar where there was air ventilation above our heads and while outside was 3 degrees or less, cold air was blowing in. We ordered all the snacks but we noticed that the batista hasn't even taken the minimum effort to unpack them and left it to do by our own(very hard packed peanuts) as in the photo. He was checking on us every 10 minutes during the 1 hour we sat there, and every time was taking one glass away. This made me really uncomfortable as if he was pushing us to go out.
