Winzerhaus Johannisberg, Weingut Michael Gietz — Restaurant in Geisenheim

We'd been trapped in detoured traffic all afternoon (Rhine River flooding), and finally got out of line to seek lodging. What a find! This is a modern but small hotel, with some English-speaking staff. Our room was large with beautiful maple furnishings, well lit, very comfortable bed, nice bathroom with a good shower, and quiet. After checking in, we went to the restaurant downstairs for a glass of local wine, which was so good we sampled several of the offerings before our excellent dinner. Breakfast was even more of a delight, served in a large windowed room with lovely views. The buffet was ample - lots of assorted breads, jams, meats, fruit, coffee, tea, juices, etc etc. Such a pleasure to relax with a cup of coffee after a good night's sleep, gazing over the rooftops! Our double room including breakfast was only 75 Euro, a bargain so close to Rudesheim and the Rhine River. This would be a good place to use as a base for day trips to...

We stayed at this hotel overnight while attending a wedding up the hill at the castle. Check-in accommodated us as an early check in this was much appreciated.|Check-in was seamless and friendly. The room was clean and spotless. While we had not too much of a view, we were only there briefly. |There is ample parking and a nice pub/restaurant on the main floor. Morning breakfast included was plentiful and fresh with the option to have eggs cooked al a minute.|Checkout was simple and well tended to. This would eb a nice spot to stay while visiting the...
