We had the afternoon tea at the Grand Elyssee. The experience was rather disappointing. The gimmick with the food being in a safe you need to open brings me right back to the 80's. The food is a bit of a mixed bag. The pattiserie is okay, the bread is dry like it was from the hotel breakfast in the morning. 79euro is way over priced for what it offers. Schöne Atmosphäre in einem imposanten Café. Hat uns ein bisschen an Las Vegas erinnert, wenn auch ohne Automaten und blinkende Werbetafeln. Das Café bietet alles was man für einen entspannten Mittag benötigt und das Essen ist durchaus gut. Ob man für ein Clubsandwich über 20 Euro bezahlen möchte, bleibt jedem selber überlassen. Schöne Kuchenauswahl und Tee kann im Kännchen bestellt werden. Was ich nicht akzeptiere in einem Hotelcafè, sind Risse in den Kännchen und abgebrochene Hänkel an den Teesieben. Verbrennungsgefahr ist dabei garantiert. Zuerst waren wir vom netten Service begeistert. Das änderte sich nach dem Schichtwechsel. Die Aufmerksamkeit schwand zunehmend und nachdem wir 40 Minuten mit leeren Gläsern auf aufmerksame Blicke des Service gewartet haben, entschieden wir uns zu bezahlen und keine weitere Bestellung zu tätigen.
