As mentioned in many reviews, the main drawback here is the service.

Being repeatedly and curtly asked 'Is that everything' after selecting a pastry is more than disheartening. There is a very 'down her nose', disdainful, or even apathetic attitude at times. As a hint for the servers, if coming across rude is not your intention and your customers are not an annoyance, try saying 'anything else?' or even try having a conversation where you might recommend things based on your knowledge of the items in the bakery.

It was my wife's birthday and we went there to get a large selection of cakes but we were made to feel so unwelcome that what could have been one of every cake became a rush to select a few just so that we could leave.

The cakes are great as mentioned in other posts, it is such a shame that the service leaves a bad taste in your mouth - perhaps all their joy was poured into the cakes.

A french bakery is somewhat of a niche and I am not aware of many other places offering these pastries nearby. Thus, this will be one of the best places to go but depending on how familiar you are with this style, you may find the eclair fillings too heavy and that the tarts fillings are not properly set. These are relatively minor but worth noting if you are trying to fill a void, otherwise they are very nice.

Cute little cafe myself and a friend decided to drop by whilst visiting Hamburg. Everything on offer looked tremendously scrumptious. We tried the Vanilla filled e'clair and it was very good. The dough was firm with some icing on top whilst the creme itself was mild but pleasant. Also tried the Lachs quiche which was incredibly creamy and warming. The texture was on the softer side. The lady working at the store was exceedingly friendly...

Firstly they take credit cards, hurra! Their pain Au chocolat or Schokolade Brot is by far the best I've had. The texture was so wonderful I couldn't believe it. I also had a breakfast sandwich and that was completely unique and super lecker.

Also the flour quality here is the best in the world so you can have a bit more bread and not be encumbered by it.

Lovely place. All very French and yummy. Please...

We had a freshly baked warm croissant and a cold one from earlier morning. IF you happend to get a freshly baked croissant then you will enjoy it very much as it'll be a delicious one. Otherwise it's not that great. Coffee is great! Service... well, a typical cold Hamburg staff.
