I find this location to be delightful and intriguing as there are several venues to choose from. There are cruises, cuisine historical objects among other things. The seafood is very good and the ambiance of the restaurants are quite tranquil. The water seems to flow from east to west through this area and the locals speak several languages that helps to accommodate the diverse range of people that come here to visit. This location is very family friendly and one can witness an abundance of parents with their children during the day. I noticed no riff-raff when I was there during the day. One of the main attractions is the fishmarket, which I was told is only open on Sundays. This harbor is a nice place to take a stroll or just to sit in the seating areas on ergonomically designed benches. There are binoculars to see across the waterway located on elevated structures above the restaurants and shops. The walk from the Reeperbahn area is pleasant and not overly demanding. I suggest spending 2-4 hours here especially if you would to take a cruise on one of the ferries as well as explore the historical sites. Do not forget to try the fish and chips while your there. Nice place to visit...
