We ate breakfast here twice during a short trip to my hometown. The restaurant is still an institution.
When we came in around 11 a.m. on the first day, we were almost the only guests, but then the place filled up quite quickly.
The waitress got to us very quickly and was very attentive the whole time. On both days we ordered the really delicious omelette, which you can definitely share in our ordered version with the three eggs, ham and cheese and a normal breakfast.
The portions were big enough, nicely prepared and our b/f option included "Kaffee satt", which my partner didn't know before ("satt" = coffee is refilled free of charge). On request there was also a milk alternative.
On the first day we sat in the front guest room and on the second day at the back in the next room opposite the cool Hamburg graffiti.
The prices are still totally OK and on both days we had nice waitresses and a delicious and big breakfast in a friendly environment at...

Unfortunately the food quality was quite a bit lower than what you would expect even from a place where beer is the main attraction. Very simple burgers (a patty, one tomato slice, one chunk of sauce), a “fajita bowl” that was just a soup made of what seemed like canned vegetables, and so on. Not worth the price at all. Stick to ordering beer and you’ll be fine.
Also we asked if they could offer a child’s portion for our 1.5 year old. The waitress said “sure, I’ll fix some noodles and tomato sauce”. That sounded good and we happily agreed. When the check came they had charged us 11 euro for it. I asked what had happened and she said it was a full meal because “we don’t really have children’s portions.” Well, in that case, don’t offer it!
So, disappointing food and...
Read moreThis was a bad experience. We were outside the restaurant and before we went in we decided to take a photo, the waitress noticed us taking a photo and she flipped a finger at us because she thought we were taking a photo of her ugly face. When we went inside and asked her in a very nice way why she flipped a finger, she walked away and she did not want to talk to us about it. I mentioned her colleague about her rudeness and he pretended he did not speak English. We finally talked to the manager and showed him the photo from the outside without her ugly face showing up. We obviuously decided to leave to another restaurant because we definetely deserve better. I do not recommend a place with rude people before...
