Ugh. I really wanted to like this place. But, unfortunately it’s really not good. If you’re going to cal yourself “New York Bagel Bar”, that’s a LOT to promise. This place is the equivalent of a Missouri establishment calling itself the same. Trying too hard to be interesting, while ignoring the basic tenets of NY bagel shops. It’s like someone went to NYC one time, had a bagel near Times Square, and then designed the place based that plus stereotypes.
The dough is so, so dense. Which means that if they’re even boiled before baking, they won’t have the right texture. I’m also not sure why everything was put through a panini press. Gah! Just call it something else, don’t promise a NY bagel. The pastrami was unfortunate treatment of excellent Metzger’s meat. It’s not that hard, just follow the old recipes.
The names and ingredients in the specials are totally off. Peanut butter and cream cheese together? The service is haphazard, the bag with my order was covered in cream cheese.
If you want an American Midwesterner’s idea of a NYC bagel, filtered through a German palate… I guess go here?
The prices are reasonable, though. And it wasn’t terrible. It just isn’t that great and it definitely isn’t what it...
Read moreStrictly based on slow service to hold up a line outside store to draw attention is one.of the most ridiculous and insulting new political these food strore have.
Together with the dounut place a few stores a part following the same disrespect to customers alued time to show case a long line does not represent a quality food store image to those who know and understand things and those whom have respect for themselves and value time they know very well where to get great food.
Same bagles with much better quality and choices has been long served with elbgold just 2 blocks away and all other places.
There is literally nothing unique or proprietary about your menue to devalue customers time.
As a foodie I would recommend to review your policies and speed up the.process before your name joins the rest of the dead placed that only had a good start days that is in if you plan to last and be around otherwise Hamburgers are intelligent and will soon figure out no to waste their valuable time standing in the made up line...
Read moreFor Germany the bagels are good, but not mind-blowing as some of these comments may suggest. We ordered two different sandwiches on everything bagels, but they only had one everything bagel left. Instead of telling us this information they decided to just make one on a sesam bagel, which u guess okay but I think asking us first would have been my preference.
What really bothered me was the price. They are charging €2.50 for a bagel with nothing on it. That's a disturbing amount to charge. I know inflation and all is crazy but for one bagel €2.50 is theft.
Overall I'd say okay bagels, but...
