Papaye Restaurant — Restaurant in Hamburg

Ordered from Lieferando. So the people that complain about aesthetics or the amount of whatever who call themselves Africa experienced know nothing. Had a long and bad day, needed a booster and tried Papaye. I am.very well experienced in Africa and it's wonderful and basic kitchen, the people complaining about the food know it from their Hotel or safaris where they try to please people from Europe. Papaye is basic, reminds me of streetfood, authentic street food: basic, easy, stuffing and just good. It is not perfect with more potential: a bit more sauce to the rice and by hot (spicy) I hope to get it damn hot, but that's okay, the chicken drums could be a bit better but I had far worse ones. The aftertaste is good, food was still hot and came super quick. Try it and make your mind, I would go again, the driver was a super friendly young gentleman with a big smile ready to share. Go for it, If you expect 5 star kitchen pass on, If you want streetfood style food with a good taste and good (not highest, best and golden) standard you should give it a shot. Thanks Papaye for bringing me back to my second home remembering having dinner at the bus stand talking to people.

This is how you eat at Papaye restaurant in 😋😋HAMBURG. So delicious and Yummy 🤤 that you can’t be polite on the food or leave a little for the gods. The customer service is always top notch. I could taste every detailed aspect of the food, well cooked and homely made feelings. If you want the best African food ( especially Ghanaian dish) i will never hide the recommendation of this restaurant. It welcomes couples too as well. I would love to taste the beans and ripe plantain on my next visit. Purely vegetarian. Initially, I was curious to find out why an African restaurant attracts more white foreigners, but now ✅ I have quenched my satisfaction and glad to join the WhatsApp group of PAPAYE HAPPY CUSTOMERS. When we ordered from Papaye via Lieferando it was good, except that the red beans were hard, cold, and felt like they'd been scraped off the bottom of the pot after sitting there all day. The plantains (with white rice and vegetables) were awesome, and the portion was huge. But when I went in person for lunch, my friend and I were both super disappointed. The price was the same, but our plates were mostly just plain white rice, with just four or five thin little plantain pieces for me - having been cooked completely differently than before - and two unsatisfyingly small pieces of chicken for her. The service here is very pleasant and friendly, but the food quality and portions vary way too drastically for me to be interested in going back....
