Schanzenbäckerei Baumwall — Restaurant in Hamburg

I have been warned about the service this place offers and how silly they serve their customers. I was there today and saw that as I asked the African woman on the cashier myself about a lactose free food and she didn’t even bother to check anything and gave me a big ‘NO’ “ we don’t have anything like that here to offer”. Who looked like someone who doesn’t like her job at all. What really surprised me the Turkish young chef (the cook) that stepped in and was extremely kind enough to read the through the allergy book (who did already exist behind the cashier) and made me everything from scratch and made sure that there is nothing contains lactose is within the ingredients. I would give five stars to the Turkish young chef and not for the place and its service. I know now why others warned me about this bakery and all of its chains. If I ever visit Hamburg I would always make sure to come to that place as long as that young man is working there. Otherwise that place is somewhere where you pay money and get...

Beim Betreten der Filiale waren wir begeistert von der modernen Einrichtung und dem attraktiven Angeboten in der Auslage. Bei der Bestellung eines Frühstück-Menüs zeigte man sich äußerst unflexibel, als ich statt des normalen Kaffees einen Cappuccino haben wollte. Es sei buchungstechnisch nicht möglich etwas zu ändern, da der Cappuccino teurer sei. Als ich bereit war die Differenz zu zahlen, blieb die Verkäuferin stur. Als wir dann mit unserem Tablett auf Grund des schönen Wetters einen Platz draussen nehmen wollten, bot uns ein Bild des Schreckens. Der Gehweg übersät mit Kippen, Kronkorken, Flaschen und anderem Unrat. Die Tische waren völlig versifft und seit längerem nicht abgewischt worden. Da ich das Besteck vergessen hatte ging ich nochmals hinein um mir 2 Messer und einen kleinen Löffel zu holen und siehe da, keine da. Kann ja Mal passieren dachte ich mir. Es brauchte 3 Versuche bis mir jemand nach mehreren Minuten genau dieses Besteck patsch nass übergab. Mehr Besteck für andere Gäste gab es dann wieder nicht. Besagter Mitarbeiter setzte sich zwischenzeitlich mit der Kollegin aus der Spülküche mit nach draußen für einen längeren Plausch in die Sonne. Zum guten Schluss zog es mir die zornesröte ins Gesicht, als ich mich dann noch auf der Holzbank in einen Klecks Nutella setzte. Nie wieder werde ich diese Bäckerei jemals wieder betreten. Innen hui, außen pfui!!! Für den Service ist ein Stern bei weitem zu viel. Hier ist die Geschäftsführung dringend in der Pflicht zu schulen und die Belegschaft anzuhalten auf mehr Ordnung u. Parts of the Produkts on display look like there bought frozen. The waiters where nice but stressed and maybe did not have the proper training. The thing that bothered me the most:

The fresh orange juice comes in a bottle that is stored at room temperature on the counter. It does not display any best befor date or gives you an idear when it got produced.
