TRUCYS Café BREAKFAST TAPAS Winterhuder Weg — Restaurant in Hamburg

This café has a very stylish and upscale atmosphere, but unfortunately, my experience didn’t quite meet my expectations. I ordered a “Vitamin Boost” shake, which I expected to include ingredients like carrot, apple, or similar, based on the menu description. However, the drink tasted mostly like orange juice, and I couldn’t detect any carrot or apple flavor. It also didn’t taste particularly fresh, which was disappointing, though I initially doubted my own judgment and decided not to make a fuss.

When my dish arrived, the quality was not quite what I had hoped for. The scrambled eggs were overcooked and didn’t taste particularly fresh you can see it clearly in the picture how overcooked is the egg. The most concerning part was the side salad, some of the leaves didn’t appear to be thoroughly washed, and a few even showed signs of spoilage, which made it unappetizing and difficult to finish.

On a more positive note, I liked their digital ordering system, it’s user-friendly and convenient. However, there was a considerable delay in receiving my food. I thought first it might have been due to understaffing which is ok, but during a short wait near the restrooms (which are close to the kitchen), I noticed the kitchen staff engaged in a long casual conversation. That might have contributed to the delay, although I understand that everyone needs a break now and then! 😉

While in Hamburg, we wanted a unique experience you can't get at a chain, TRUCYS provided just that!.

The food is health focused and fresh, even the bread is locally supplied. There are warm options as well as cold dish/bow options. Drinks are plentiful and include soft drinks, juices, and mimosas.

The service was top notch 6/5! Very polite, very. Helpful. Attentive. Patient with those of us who can't speak German very well.

The 4/5 for atmosphere is mostly a personal preference because we sat very close to the radiator and i get hot easily - for someone else it could be perfect! It also seemed a bit tight because there was a coat rack right behind and it felt someone was always behind you.

I would also say the prices are on the higher end, however that is likely to the quality of the food and you can taste it.

If you're health conscious and/or prefer small business over big chains - i would absolutely...

Wir sind leider enttäuscht von dem Laden. Typisches Instagram-Phänomen: Sieht auf Fotos toll aus, aber leider steckt nicht so viel dahinter.

Die Einrichtung empfanden wir als sehr billig. Die Sonnenschirme passten zB nicht in den Ständern und wackelten umher. Auch der Tresen und die generelle Einrichtung empfanden wir alles nicht hochwertig. Wäre ja auch kein Problem, wenn die Essenspreise nicht so hoch wären.

Bestellt wird per QR-Code am Tisch und nicht bei einer Servicekraft - kann man mögen, muss man aber nicht. Gezahlt werden kann per Kreditkarte oder Apple-Pay. Es gibt noch die Möglichkeit beim Service zu bezahlen, da es aber nur eine Servicekraft gab plus eine Hilfskraft zum Abräumen, kann man sich selber überlegen, wie lange man warten möchte.

Wir haben ca 35-40 Minuten aufs Essen gewartet. Die Getränke kamen in einer angemessen schnellen Zeit. Das Essen sah klasse aus und macht echt was her, aber auch hier wurden wir enttäuscht. Es schmeckte nicht schlecht, es haut aber auch nicht vom Hocker und vor allem ist es viel zu wenig. Wir mussten drei Gerichte (pro Gericht minimal 13€, eher 15€) zu zweit bestellen zum Frühstück, um satt zu werden. Der Chai Latte schmeckte nur nach Milch. Der Cappuccino war ganz in Ordnung, die Milch schön aufgeschäumt. Von den Pancakes waren zwei von hier total hart.

+++ Wichtig zu wissen: Man bekommt einen Eistee umsonst, wenn man eine Google Bewertung schreibt. Daher ist die Frage, wie aussagekräftig die meisten Bewertungen hier sind +++ Leider hat der Eistee aber auch nicht so gut geschmeckt - selbst meiner 11-jährigen Tochter nicht. Und in dem Alter mag man ja in aller Regel alles was süß ist.

Zur Bedienung: Der junge Mann, der alle bedient hat und alles gemanagte hat, war super flott, zuvorkommend und hatte alles gut im Blick. Das war klasse. Die beiden anderen wirkten etwas überfordert und grüßten auch nicht, als wir reinkamen.

Gepaart damit, dass man nach 1 ½ Stunden aufgefordert wird zu gehen (hatten sie bei der Reservierung schon angekündigt), war es doch alles zusammen genommen für uns enttäuschend und wir werden auch nicht wiederkommen. Für andere mag es genau richtig sein und verschiedene Punkte vielleicht auch nicht...
