Buafah — Restaurant in Hanover

Seems like the owners have changed. I don't like the updated menu. They have all the classic dishes, which I guess is sufficient for the Thai food newbie. But if you ask me, I think this place has gone from unique to mediocre. When they first opened they had an AMAZING menu with dishes that truly spark your interest. I had the most delicious crispy pork belly. I've been to many Thai restaurants throughout my life but they offered me a new experience of Thai food. The name "Thai art bistro" was accurate and appropriate. Now that dish is no longer offered. In fact, they no longer offer pork on the menu at all. Interesting, isn't it? Now it's just the classic cookie cutter "curry/pad thai/stir fry with your meat of choice" that you see everywhere anyway with one of the meat options being "gebackenes Hähnchen", i.e. deep fried chicken breast. Yeah. The kind you'd get in places like Mai Mai (no offense). The food we had in the end was great and the service was quick and friendly. So 5 stars for that. Thanks to the chef and the waiter. If you've never been before and you wanna check out the place for yourself, please do. But I remember what the place used to be like, and I prefer visiting the other great Thai restaurants in Hannover that offer specialty dishes. Buafah, you should have...

If you're visiting Hannover and find yourself craving exceptional Thai cuisine, Buafah is a truly superb choice. What immediately stands out is the authenticity; with Thai chefs at the helm, you're guaranteed to experience genuine, traditional Thai flavours that are simply delightful.

A particular highlight is their lunch special menu. It offers fantastic value, allowing you to enjoy a delicious and satisfying midday meal without breaking the bank. Just a word of advice: if you plan to visit during lunchtime, try to arrive a bit earlier as it can get incredibly busy, and the interior, while vibrant, can become a little noisy.

Despite the potential for a bustling atmosphere, the quality of the food more than makes up for it. The taste is consistently excellent, and the freshness of the ingredients shines through in every dish, ensuring a thoroughly enjoyable...

Das Fazit vorweg: Hier gibt es sehr gute Thaiküche, die auch die etwas erhöhten Preise rechtfertigt. Wer sparen will, kann das mit den Gerichten vom Mittagsmenü.

Zum Restaurant: Das „Buafah“ nennt sich selbst „Thai Art Bistro“ und ist ein weiteres asiatisches Restaurant in der Altstadt von Hannover. Was macht „Buafah“ anders oder besser als die Mitbewerber?

Zunächst einmal ist die Konzentration auf die Thai-Küche aus meiner Sicht schon erfreulich. Nicht selten trifft man Restaurants an, die vom Sushi (Japan) über vietnamesisch, Thai und chinesische Küche die gesamte asiatische Palette anbieten.

Wir haben zweimal bei „Buafah“ gegessen. Ich sage „bei“, weil in Zeit von Corona ein Essen im Bistro nicht möglich ist/war. Beiden Mal waren dies typische Curry-Gerichte. 1x zum Mitnehmen. 1x mit (eigenem) Bringdienst. Das Curry war immer sehr gut. Konkret heißt das, perfekte Schärfe, gut abgewürzt, zartes Hähnchenfleisch (Ausreichend) mit passendem Gemüse und Reis.

Auch das „bringen“ hat super geklappt. Essen ist heiß und unversehrt geliefert worden und der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

Update: Wir haben ca. 10 x Beim Buafah gegessen. Mehrfach im Restaurant, mehrfach Essen "toGo" und als Bringdienst (direkt vom Restaurant). Das Thaicurry ist in meinen Augen das beste, was man aktuell in Hannover bekommen kann und seinen Preis auch wert.

Der Mittagstisch ist unschlagbar: Jedes Gericht wird mit einem gemischten Salat und gebackenen Wan-Tan sowie einer Suppe serviert und liegt bei 7,80 EUR oder 8,80 EUR für die beiden teueren Fleischsorten.

Ebenfalls unschlagbar ist der Service: Immer freundlich und zuvorkommen. TOP!

Das Restaurant hat jetzt auch Sitzplätze vor dem Lokal und scheint den eigenen kleinen Garten mit weiteren Außenplätzen...
