Recently, my partner and I visited La Favola to order two take-away coffees. We were told by a gentleman that they do indeed sell takeaway coffee, only for him to turn around after 10 seconds demanding me and my partner to leave the premises; upon investigating for the reasons to push us (literally; the gentleman we spoke to got REALLY close, in what appeared to be a threatening manner) out of the restaurant, the gentleman stated "because I don't want to sell you coffee" - I have no idea what we supposedly did wrong - no reason was stated. Further, we were threatened with the police if we weren't to leave (all we did is order a coffee). Upon asking the owner to please go ahead with calling the police, he noticeably got more angry and even some guests chimed in, telling us that he would be entitled to remove us from the premise. No reason for this rude behaviour was stated. And no - in order to make use of the 'Hausrecht', guests need to show some kimd of inappropriate behaviour. But all we did, was order a coffee and 'dare' to ask, why we were treated so badly; this appears like straight up discrimination. Could they not at least explain the problem? My partner, who didn't even say a word, was also asked to leave. Later, when talking to a friend who lives in Hannover, I was informed that the area would be very violent and that this kind of treatment isn't unusual.
Wow ... we only visited Hanover for a day and already had such a terrible experience.
We reported La Favola to the Hanover Anti-Diskriminierungsstelle and the local police.
Considering the incredibly rude staff and even guest behaviour, I urge anyone to avoid this place for your own safety.
RESPONSE TO OWNER:
All of my points above reflect exactly what happened. I also discussed the whole situation again with my partner and she confirmed that this was her impression also. Mind you, that she was also asked to leave, despite not saying anything at all in the restaurant; how could she have been rude?
Also, I asked several times for the reason for having to leave; NOT ONCE were we given any reasons, all while the gentlemen behind the bar came threatingly close. It's beyond me, how I am being called out as aggressive when I tried multiple times to resolve the situation, while only facing more and more discrimination from the restaurants staff.
It is clear that the venue is in dire denial about their misbehaviour and attempt to shift blame; the multiple "!" in the owners's response is a good reflection of their hotheaded attitude. Quote: "If someone causes problems they have to get out!!!!!"
On this note, I only hope that the restaurant itself sticks to this statement and removes itself - Hanover really already has enough discrimination; NO ONE needs a place that discriminates people like...

Abgesehen von dem äußerst mittelmäßigem Essen (wenn man es nett ausdrückt) bekommt man hier verfaulte Oliven, von denen man wiederum eine LEBENSMITTELVERGIFTUNG bekommt. Hier sollte dringend das Gesundheitsamt mal eine Hygieneuntersuchung machen. Bitte meidet diesen Laden solange dies nicht passiert ist.

Vielen Dank für ihre Rückmeldung. Ich war unter der Woche da, mindestens die Hälfte der Plätze waren noch frei. Also doch, leider habe ich einen Tisch bei Ihnen bekommen. Das Einzige was hier eine Straftat ist, ist der Hygienezustand bei Ihnen. Oder ist es nicht so, dass ihr die ungegessenen Oliven wieder vom Tisch nehmt und in einen ungekühlten Kübel zurückschmeißt? Ihre Aussage bezüglich Kundenzufriedenheit sollten sie demnach auch revidieren, denn ich war einer ihrer Gäste und es hat mir offensichtlich nicht geschmeckt.
