Introduction and history:

Outstanding small owner-run Cocktailbar well hidden in Heidelberg‘s historic old town. The Bent Bar openend its doors over 9 years ago and is still doing great - that alone is quite an accomplishment.

Everyone that knows Heidelberg’s historic old town good enough is well aware of the fact that if you want to run a profitable long lasting business you need great products, an appealing interrior and an excellent service on top of that.

The owners know that and are always present at the bar. The concept of the Bent Bar is simple but at the same time very well thought through:

High quality cocktails, great recommendations, excellent service and all of that in a relaxed and elegant atmosphere.

Cocktails:

All spirits in this bar have a high standard and the ingredients are always top notch. You can get several kinds of excellent drinks all reasonable priced.

Two of my personal highlights are the „Commonwealth“ (Greenall’s Gin infused with Earlgrey tea filled up with Ginger Beer on ice cubes) and the „Penicillin“ (Laphroaig 10 years, Four Roses Bourbon with fresh lemon juice, fresh smashed ginger slices and honey sirup shaked on ice).

There are many more to list but I think any person can find a fitting drink here.

To round things off, you‘ll get salty bread snacks in a little bowl.

Location:

It‘s on purpose that the Bent Bar is not easy to find and not located in the middle of Heidelberg‘a old town cause it‘s certainly no place for mass tourism.

You want to go here to have high quality cocktails and enjoy a great time with your friends or loved ones in a unique and relaxed atmosphere with chilled music.

Conclusion:

If you want the best cocktails in Heidelberg paired with a special environment and a great service the Bent Bar is your best bet.

The customer is really king here which is quite rare in the days of ordinary businesses popping up everywhere especially in the gastronomy sector.

What an amazing experience we had at bent bar. It's a hidden little gem! The staff are amazing and they know what they are doing. They can make recommendations based on what you like and you won't be disappointed! Our bartender was so friendly and informative and his cocktails were so well made. I was shocked at how cheap the cocktails were especially with the high quality alcohol they use. Most cocktails averaged between 8,50 - 9,50 € which is what you pay for mediocre cocktails at a normal restaurant. I was expecting prices of 15€ so I was pleasantly surprised. Presentation is on point and of course the taste is amazing! Highly recommend the pisco sour (the pictured cocktail with the foam). 10/10 recommend!

P.S they don't take groups of more than 5 and no bachelor or Bachelorette...

Absolute Top Qualität! Die Preise sind noch so wie sie sein sollten (8-9€) - richtig fair! Wenn ich das z.b mit Bars in München vergleiche, wo Drinks das doppelte kosten, aber geschmacklich nicht mit der Bent Bar mithalten können, einfach unschlagbar.

Jetzt zu den Drinks, wir hatten folgende 5:

South of the Border: perfekt ausgewogen, die Rauchigkeit des Mezcal kommt optimal zur Geltung, ist nicht überpresent und harmoniert ausgezeichnet mit der Säure und Süße. Zu Beginn ein Tick zu süß, sobald aber etwas Schmelzwasser der Eiswürfel in den Drink gelangt, entfaltet sich das perfekte Aroma. Für mich der beste Drink des Abends - 5/5

French Tiki: Auch dieser Drink eine top Empfehlung, super Zusammenspiel der einzelnen Komponenten, kann man nicht besser machen - 5/5

Martinique Daiqiri: Leider eher schwach, die Säue zu prominent und irgendwie künstlich, der Rum Geschmack zu sehr im Hintergrund für einen Daiqiri - 2/5

Seattleites: ein Drink mit "Ecken und Kanten", erster Eindruck war sehr herb. Ich weiß nicht welcher Bourbon verwendet wird, aber hier könnte man evtl mit einer anderen Auswahl noch etwas mehr Balance reinbringen. Der Tee Geschmack kommt leider zu wenig zur Geltung. Optisches Highlight ist der Schaum, der auch nach langer Zeit nicht zusammenfällt - 4/5

Pampelle Spritz: erfrischender Aperifitv, nichts zu bemängeln oder verbessern - 5/5

Ambiente: etwas steril und kahl in der Einrichtung, durch die geringe Größe des Raumes aber dennoch gemütlich. Hier besteht allerdings noch Potential nach oben - 3/5

Service: sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Wie für eine gute Bar üblich, wurden auch Snacks...
