Casa del Caffè — Restaurant in Heidelberg

We arrived just after 10am and managed to find a seat just as someone was leaving. It's a lovely French styled café and very stylish. They have a limited menu but enough for a quick breakfast as we'd read some great reviews. Unfortunately it's a victim to its own success in that the service was terrible. We waited a while to be seen but as we waited we planned what we were going to have. Unfortunately by the time we ordered all the bread rolls disappeared before our eyes as a table at the rear had ordered them all. By the time we got served we managed to order 1 goat cheese sandwiche (which I hate but at least my partner likes). Took a while and we finally got our coffee. Only after I was nearly done did I actually get my Franzbrotchen. We ordered 2 fresh orange juices and only received 1. Coffee was great, orange juice was great, sandwich what we had was great but the whole experience wasn't. Needed another person working there. Would have taken the pressure off the waitress and possibly helped resupply the food so they didn't run out at 10.30 in...

Great little cafe which was across our hotel. Open early and till midnight. Always busy.

Very good coffee, croissants and sandwiches for breakfast. We had a night cap both nights we were there. Good and wide drink selection. Nice service and atmosphere. We had different waiters each of our 3 visits, and they were all nice and hard-working.

Very good value (e.g. bottle of wine 20 euros. For breakfast, 2 lattes, a tea, 3 croissants, and a sandwitch for 20 euros) especially for the location. It seems to be poplar with...

A gaggle of non-German/English speaking tourists were absolutely terrorizing the two young souls tasked with running this Cafe. Crashing into everything, not understanding the concept of table service (or paying for things), taking 15 minutes to order a croissant, etc, etc. The young duo kept their cool and remained patient and polite. It was impressive. I would have snapped long ago. Croissants would have gone flying. The Cafe has a lovely atmosphere and good coffee and treats. Very nice...
