Ich war auf der Suche nach einem typischen Gericht für Heidelberg. Laut Google also Pfälzer Saumagen, nach Recherche, wo es das gibt, bin ich hier gelandet. Drinnen schaut es richtig urig und gemütlich aus, viele Tische sind jedoch nicht zur Verfügung. Aber draußen, sowohl an der Straße direkt, welche jedoch nicht groß befahren wird, als auch im Hinterhof gibt es noch weitere Sitzmöglichkeiten. Ich entschied mich für den Hinterhof, wo es einfach etwas gemütlicher und ruhiger ist als an der Straße, wo die Menschen vorbei laufen und gierig auf dein Essen starren 😉 Also habe ich den Saumagen und ein Bier bestellt. Beides kam echt flott und die Bedienung (der Besitzer?) war super nett. Der Saumagen kommt mit Sauerkraut und Bratkartoffeln. Die Bratkartoffeln sind aber keine Scheiben, sondern Stücke. Und Senf, genügend Senf. Ich wurde letztendlich nicht enttäuscht und habe einen sehr leckeren Pfälzer Saumagen gegessen. Der Preis war auch für die Portion echt okay. Was ich bemängeln muss, aber das scheint hier Standard zu sein, dass das Bier ziemlich teuer ist und dazu nur 0,4. Als Bayerin bin ich vielleicht auch etwas verwöhnt. Wenn man nicht direkt aus München kommt. Einen Besuch kann ich hier jedoch wärmstens empfehlen.

Very nice and comfy place in the center of Heidelberg. The service was awesome and kind. Cute place with a pianist that gave a concert. Warm ambience and nice decoration. The food was very good and fresh. The waiters also spoke English and offered a translated menu. Recommended place to spend a lovely day with family and friends.

Ich hatte was anderes erwartet, das Ambiente ist toll und urig. Wir waren im Biergarten in dem auch das Fenster der Küche liegt. Bestellt hatten Leberkäse mit hausgemachten Kartoffelsalat und Fleischsalat mit Bratkartoffeln. Beim Kochen konnten wir den Arabischen Koch hören wie er sagte "Äh den Fleischsalat probier ich aber nicht" ernsthaft??? Klar er isst, sehr wahrscheinlich kein Schweinefleisch, so etwas will ich aber nicht hören. Der Kartoffelsalat, war eine Katastrophe und hatte nix mit Kartoffelsalat zu tun. Ich hab ihn liegenlassen. Das ist sehr, sehr schade. Sehr wahrscheinlich aber auch der Grund warum niemand da war. Die Arabische Küche hat so viel zu bieten, hätte man mit dem Kartoffelsalat kombinieren können, exotisch würzen können. Ich kann es nicht empfehlen. Edit: 😂 odenwälder koch, ich habe ihn gesehen und er war ganz sicher nicht von hier und ich weiß was ich gehört habe. Das ist kein Rassismus, so den die wahrheit, deshalb löschen ich hier gar nix. The taste is middle, the prices are so high, maybe in the majority of Heidelberg so high prices, I don't know exactly. In other German cities even in Berlin, Paris (capitals of France and Germany) there a lot of places where you can eat much more tasty interesting food for 15 euro in cafes, so I can eat not only two or three baked potatoes without sauce but also piece of meat or sausage or salad approximately per 10 euro for dish. Potato tastes normal but per 10 euro it's too much for such portion. Beer is tasty but I tasted more tasty beer in Germany so there is a direction for development. Ice cream is tasty. My friend tasted steak but it doesn't satisfy her, there are better steaks in the world for such price. I tasted stake in other city and portion was much more bigger for such price and it was...

I had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful restaurant during my visit to Heidelberg, and it truly exceeded all expectations. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with traditional. The food was absolutely fantastic—each dish was flavorful, well-executed and absolutely delicious. A special mention to our server, who went above and beyond to make our experience even better. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the beer selection and helped us choose the perfect brew to complement our meal. His recommendations were spot on, and he really added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Heidelberg. The combination of great food, wonderful service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a must-visit! Greetings...

The service and location closer to the river was quite enjoyable but the food was one of the worst. We ordered Schnitzel and Heidelberger Chicken. Both tasted like cardboards, no amount of sauce and burnt potatoes salvaged the food. It's not uneatable but just so bland. If this is being offered as german traditional food in the old town of touristic town then german cuisine does deserve the bad reputation. Maybe change the recipe a little bit than the one in...
