Restaurant ON — Restaurant in Heidelberg

Our experience of the restaurant ON in Heidelberg was our worst in Germany so far.

Me and my wife arrived at 6pm at the restaurant with our 6 month old daughter. As we had no reservation so we were provided a small table in the corner. We asked the waiter if there was a slightly bigger table available due to the bags we were carrying. They said no. We asked to make a reservation at 7 or 7:30pm depending on the time slot they had available. They said 7:30pm would be possible.

We returned at 7:30pm. On arriving, we were asked to wait for 15min as there was no table available.

We were called at almost 7:50pm at a table. After sitting at the table for 15-20min we were able to order. We waited and waited. Our order was brought to us after almost 30min. In the meantime our daughter became a bit irritated. My wife went outside with her to calm her down. She returned in 5min but our daughter not entirely calm. I finished my meal quickly and took over the task of calming our daughter. My wife helped me to put on the baby carrier and Coat at the door of the restaurant and then went back to complete her meal.

On returning to our table, she found out that her meal was already thrown away and the table was empty. They thought we had finished our meals, even when the plates were full.

We had waited effectively more than 3hrs and my wife had to leave empty stomach.

As I said at the start, our worst experience in Germany.

We would not recommend this...

This is the place I love the most in Heidelberg! I can definitely recommend this place, rather I would say I am so happy and honored to have this place in the city I live! People would never imagaine how it is gorgeous thing to have ‘go-to Korean restaurant’ so that I can bring my foreign friends there.

Out of Korea, it’s really hard to find authentic korean restaurant. I’ve been to some, but I can bet, this place is the most authentic place. If it were in Korea, I bet, it would be still my favorite restaurant!

Every of my friends liked here so much, which I am so thankful to both my friends and the restaurant. They have described the food as ‘well cooked with good quality of materials and side dishes’

If you do not know which one to order, ask the waiter for the recommendation! The special thing is, there’s no represantative menu, because you would find every menu is always tastes the best!

Huge thanks for the restaurant, they have me the best memory with my dear friends. P.S I’m always sad on monday and tuesday, I denitely understand for the day off, just joking because it’s so delicious that i keep thinking of the food on monday and tuesday lol ( For some menus, IMAO it’s even more delicous than my mom’s. Sorry Mom, but that’s the truth hehehe, but they have already visited here together and...

We returned after 5 years and still had good time at this place. Service was more friendly than ever. We got fairly stuffed portions for what we paid. The food is very authentic, so expect each main portion to be served with a main dish and various side dishes, and if it’s listed as “spicy” then it’s really Korean level of spicy. Overall good Korean food that I recommend.

-1 star because: _ It was wayyyy too long until the food is served. About 30 minutes for the starters and after we finished them we had to wait another 15 minutes for the main dish. We almost fell asleep due to boredom. _ For the Bibimbap with Bulgogi, they used minced beef. Obviously that’s still somewhat true to the recipe. However the taste would have been better if they used thin sliced beef. The amount of minced beef within the bowl was not enough to stand out against all other ingredients. After mixing the bowl I could hardly feel like I tasted any meat at all.
