La Fée Bar Café — Restaurant in Heidelberg

Pretty interior. Extremely slow service. I had to ask for a menu after 10 minutes. When we ordered our drinks, I said we were ready to order food and I was told that he would return to take the food order, but he didn't return for 20 minutes and I finally had to ask to put in the order. When they finally took the order after another 10 minutes wait, it took another 30 minutes for the food to arrive. The coffee was very nice, but I would have liked to enjoy my coffee with my meal, rather than finish it 30 minutes before. The food was pretty good, and the fruit was fresh. They ran out of yoghurt, so I couldn't get my first choice, and the overnight oats were not particularly interesting. Other people enjoyed their food. Tasty food with the right portions— a bit of a wait but food tasted fresh and could hear the cook in the kitchen working hard to prepare our homemade meal. BEFORE & AFTER photos to prove our satisfaction :)

The food was good, but unfortunately the service overshadowed it. We were in a hurry and got up to pay at the counter. The staff asked us to return to our table so they could come to us, which we understood might be their policy. However, when we politely asked if it would be possible to just pay at the counter, the response was unnecessarily curt and dismissive. It wasn’t the rule itself that bothered us, but the tone and attitude. Respectful communication and a bit of flexibility go a long way in hospitality.
