Irish Pub Kempten - A Thousand Miles to Dublin — Restaurant in Kempten (Allgäu)

I would give it 6 stars.

Ironic how the most welcoming place in Kempten to a Tourist, is an Irish Pub. This had been a favorite of ours since our first day here.

You are greeted with a warm welcoming smile, treated with respect and you will receive above average service, every-single-time guaranteed. (An added bonus is, that all the staff speak fluent, perfect English).

The ambiance is both romantic and authentic and you can literally stay there for days if your budget allows it.

The history on its walls tells a tale and everytime you visit, you will learn something new or interesting about the Irish culture, or Kempten itsself (if you are bold enough to ask).

Guests from all over the globe have visited this pub, and can confidently say that I am sure all of them have left the pub slightly inebriated and in a great mood.

The location is not very obvious, but if you allow yourself to get lost in town, you will eventually find your way there. It is a magnet and you have been warned.

Although this isn't an authentic German place, you absolutely have to visit it. You will be served with cold German and Irish beers that are fairly priced, you will meet strangers with stories to tell and you will return, at the very least once, to have one more beer with the fellas before you depart.

This, in my modest opinion, is the warmest, friendliest place in Kempten, and you will regret not spending your Euros and time there.

Do a little bit of research and visit the pub on a pub-quiz night. The place will be buzzing with people and as they say.. "the more, the merrier.."

Also (regardless of my dairy intolerance), I highly recommend the Bailey's Cheesecake. It is heaven on a plate.

On the other hand... if you want to destroy your pub crawling buddies (like mine did to me) order a few Carbombs.. You won't be disappointed.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting an Irish pub renowned for its delectable selection of beers. Let me start by saying that the taste of their brews was absolutely worth every penny. The pub boasted an impressive array of flavors, each beer crafted with care and bursting with unique character.

That being said, it's important to note that the beers at this establishment leaned towards the pricier side. While the higher cost can be attributed to the quality and craftsmanship, it did give me pause before indulging in multiple rounds. Nevertheless, the taste and experience of sampling their diverse beer offerings were undeniably delightful.

The pub itself exuded a cozy, welcoming ambiance, complete with traditional Irish décor and live music filling the air. It provided an authentic setting to unwind and appreciate the rich flavors of the beers.

The staff members were friendly and well-versed in their beer selection.

However, there was one aspect that slightly detracted from the otherwise enjoyable atmosphere. Occasionally, the pub played American country music tracks which Im sure they were maybe wrongly in their irish spotify playlist. While I understand the desire to cater to a diverse clientele, as a personal preference, I found the inclusion of country music in an Irish pub somewhat discordant.

Nonetheless, if you are a beer aficionado willing to splurge on exceptional taste, I wholeheartedly recommend paying a visit to this Irish pub and try the irish beer specially the kilkeny one. Just be prepared to savor some truly delicious, albeit pricier, brews. And while the occasional inclusion of American country music may not be to everyone's liking, the overall experience of the pub and the remarkable quality of their beers make it a worthwhile destination for...

Ich bin seit vielen Jahren Gast im Dublin, nicht ständig oder wöchentlich aber immer wieder. In wechselnder Begleitung, mit dem Mädelsabend, mit dem Partner, mit einem guten Freund zu einem guten Gespräch. Die Reservierung klappt immer. Auch Sonderwünsche wie z.b. das Glas Sekt vorab auf dem Tisch wegen Geburtstag werden wirklich immer gelesen, wahrgenommen und ausgeführt. Das Essen ist von der Qualität absolut gut und auch empfehlenswert. Ich bin sehr kritisch was die Herkunft und Zubereitung der Speisen angeht, einfach weil ich meinem Körper keinen "Mist" füttern möchte. Und ich war und bin immer zufrieden. Auch kleine Bestellungsänderungen werden stets berücksichtigt. Ich kenne kein Lokal, Bar, Restaurant oder wie auch immer in der Umgebung dass so unfassbar gut ausgewähltes Personal hat. Immer gut drauf und im größten Gästeaufkommen noch Zeit für ein kurzes persönliches Wort. Nicht nur für mich, genauso an den Nachbartischen.

Und um auf das Thema Geld und Trinkgeld einzugehen - ja, es ist ein bisschen hochpreisiger geworden über die Jahre aber das sind andere auch. Ich bin nicht Krösus und schüttel das auch nicht aus dem linken Ärmel aber hin und wieder ist es mir das für die Hochwertigkeit von Essen und Service auch wert. Trinkgeld gebe ich im normalen Bereich hätte ich gesagt und noch niemals ist es die letzten 10 Jahre vorgekommen dass jemand das Wechselgeld um einen oder zwei Euro verschusselt hätte zu seinen Gunsten, wie in einer vorigen Rezension zu lesen war.

Das Dublin ist mein "Heimatort", mit gemütlicher Musik, gemütlichem Ambiente, dort habe ich schon gelacht und geweint, auch gefeiert und auch nur ganz unspektakulär ein Guinness getrunken. Ich werde nicht von 1000 Watt Glühbirnen angestrahlt und sitze nicht inmitten von 100 Menschen auf dem Präsentierteller. Ich kann dort schick hingehen weil mir danach ist, ich kann auch in Jeans und T-Shirt hingehen und ich werde immer gleich behandelt.

Sorry, aber das im Dublin jemand nicht korrekt ist kann ich nicht so stehen lassen. Es tut mir leid für jeden der die Erfahrung anders gemacht hat. Sicher gibt es Fehler und Versehen. Aber auch reden hilft, dort ist man eine große Familie und sollte was vorgekommen sein kann man das bestimmt klären.

Für mich ist es seit Jahren einer meiner liebsten Orte und wenns im Leben mal blöd läuft, geht ins Dublin, trinkt was und die Welt sieht gleich besser aus. Und wenn es eh gut läuft, geht feiern und...
