Bagel Brothers — Restaurant in Leipzig

We got the lucky bagel (fried egg with bacon, cream cheese) and guacamole. Surprisingly we loved the guacamole bagel more (it has bacon as well).

The americano was delicious; no decaf options however. Freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious.

As per other reviews, order process is confusing so I’m glad I was aware. Enter the main doors and there’s a sign that says “Order Here” - This is where you order for the first time. Under the sign there are several employees working furiously to fulfill orders and don’t speak with you directly because they’re busy. You wait until they’re ready, then you can place your order for the first time. There was a young female staff who spoke fluent English who was very friendly and helpful when we visited yesterday (Aug 19 around 9:30 am).

The location is conveniently situated near the main street across from the central station, making it easy to access and find. The shop has a casual, modern vibe while also feeling comfortable and tidy.

I visited on a weekday just after 4:30 PM, and there were only two other customers, creating a peaceful atmosphere. I had fond memories of delicious bagels from a previous visit, so I came in with high expectations. However, that turned out to be a big mistake.

The fillings in the bagel sandwich (sauces, vegetables, etc.) were tasty, but the bagel itself was too dry. While the flavor was good, the texture fell short, leaving me a bit disappointed. I wonder if there have been any changes in the ingredients, preparation methods, or storage practices for the bagels. If the texture can be improved, I’m confident that this place can reclaim its title as the best...

It seems Bagel Brothers struggles with getting consistent, and competent, help like many other businesses. The staff who have been there a while are quite good, lately there is at least one staff member who clearly doesnt want to be working there, if she could sit and play on her phone the entire time she definitely would. Not even close to displaying the bare minimum of customer service. Like others have shared, the bagels are getting quite small. One shouldnt need 2 bagels with cream cheese for a breakfast, thats an indication of pushing the boundaries of value. Its a great place, not sure if ownership or management have changed, but the price/service/value balance has definitely dropped in the last couple of years.
