Dhillons — Restaurant in Leipzig

We had high hopes for this bar, but were definitely let down. We visited about a month after opening, so were expecting a few hiccups as the team figured out their workflow. However, little to nothing went well during the entire meal. The drinks took 10 minutes to arrive and the food (2 burgers) another 45 minutes after that. The burgers themselves were highly disappointing, as my wife's was nearly inedible with the amount of sweet tomato relish and mine was overstuffed with soggy vegetables (and nacho chips that I had asked to not be added when ordering).

The worst part, though, came when we went to pay the bill. A sign outside the bar said that Thursday had a burger special. However, we were charged full price for both burgers. We asked the waitress who alerted the manager, who came out to look at the sign. She later told us there is nothing she can do. We asked to speak with the manager, and he told us that a waitress made a mistake and Tuesday was actually burger day. We had to argue with him for 5 minutes and told him only went there because of the special, and finally he begrudgingly gave us a partial discount.

We certainly won't be back with that type of attitude when THEY make a mistake on their...

Ok first the good. I really liked the decor and the furnishings. The beer was excellent. I had a great 0.5l of Brewdog Punk IPA. Then the bad. We went there on Monday evening. The place was fairly empty. There were 4 or 5 barmaids walking around and another man and woman behind the bar. We had to wait ages to be served. Finished my first drink and had to aggressively wave down a barmaid after no attention whatsoever. We ordered the food after a while. The waitress took the wrong order and I was presented with a drink instead of a burger 😂. When the food came my burnt burger came without fries and just one insulting onion ring. The waitress brought my fries after I finished the horrible burger. One friend had the Irish Stew. The potatoes were hard. The other friend had cottage pie and suffered stomach problems and swears never to eat here again (no joke). I can only say don‘t eat here and be patient if you want a drink. The service...

Been searching for good ribs in Leipzig for some time, more misses than hits and than i ordered the Big Grill Mix. The ribs were sublime. Not overcooked, not dry, not undercooked, just perfect. Bones separating from the meat easily. The sauce used to coat the ribs was a total hit, salty, sweet it just added to the overall flavor. The chicken breast was perfectly cooked but not dry but juicy with gold/orange color on the outside.

I also ate few other dishes, like Guinness Goulash, Lamb Shank, Guinness Goulash Pie... all were really tasty and worth the price.

So far apart from a ramen place, this is my favorite place to eat in Leipzig.

The atmosphere in the bar is cozy and relaxing.

Only thing i can complain about is that the chairs inside the pub, have a strange bump, on the forward legs (on the sides of the legs), that was a design choice by the carpenter. Looks like a spiral protruding outwards, to the sides. That thing...
