Gosenschenke Ohne Bedenken Inh. Loreen Heinrich — Restaurant in Leipzig

This is one of the best Biergartens that I have been to in Leipzig, let alone all of Germany. The prices are indeed indicative of global critical acclaim, but don't let that deter you in 2024 when everything is expensive.

Firstly, the food is excellent and the portion sizes are fair. I ordered two Bratwursts with brötchen and my partner had a Schweinshaxe with 2 potato dumplings. Secondly, and this is the main reason why I love this place is the staff. It's not like I had a lot of deep or extensive conversations with the staff but seriously, everyone I spoke to was not only polite and friendly, but extremely accommodating and did their best. For context, I am an expat from Canada living in Germany. My partner and I were later joined by other expatriate and German friends (from the USA, Japan, and Spain). The waitress, who I believe was from Latin America was very friendly and attentive to all of the tables needs. When the outdoor Biergarten area was closed, an elder gentleman from the staff team came over and tried to very politely ask us to move indoors. He asked us this in English. I was very impressed.

Indoors, the waiter who took our drink spilled a little Coca-Cola and instead of handing it to us all sticky, he went back to the kitchen, wiped the glass, and even topped up the drink to make up for the little bit that spilled earlier.

When I went to the washroom, an older woman from the staff was filling up a bucket of water in the sink. She saw me patiently waiting and very sweetly motioned for me to use the sink first.

At the end of the night, another elder gentleman from the staff kindly notified us that they were closing and explained that they unfortunately cannot allow us to stay longer due to the nature of the area.

It is the small interactions with the personnel here that have summed up to my conclusion that this is indeed a high quality establishment, not only on food & drink, but in the people they hire. Every interaction at this Biergarten was no short of classy.

I would rate this place 6/5 stars and recommend all expats, newcomers to Leipzig, and locals to go here. The food and drinks are great, but it's the service that makes this Biergarten really shine.

But only bad things about this place is the waiter of waitresses doesn’t speak much of English, this is really authentic local German restaurant!

If you found this place on the Google Maps, you have to come, but you have to be patient here with the slow service to receive your meals. This is not the place for a quick bite!

As the name suggests, it's a beer garden for a relaxing time. It's a little away from the bustle of the city center and is a calm Biergarten filled with trees.

They boast the award winning Edelgose on tap along with a few other freshly brewed bier. If you visit during the summer, be sure to try the famous Märzen Bier. The also have a popular kitchen in the garden along with a historic indoor dining room. Feel free to ask for a visit!
