Restaurant Zunftkeller — Restaurant in Leipzig

We really wanted to experience german cuisine on our first day in Leipzig. Waiter warned us that we will have to wait half an hour for the food and we didn't mind. In reality we've waited 20 minutes to get a menu and another 20 minutes to order. We've waited next 15 minutes for beers and our miała came after two hours. We are still here and we've spent here 3 hours in total. We actually wouldn't mind if any of the servers would come and check on us, but we have seen the guy maybe twice (we are in the garden and there were some guests as well) While waiting, we wanted to order another beer but we had to find any waiter on our own. When found, waitress ignored our request and came back inside. My fiancee had to go downstairs to the bar and order there. When after some time I went to the bartender to ask if anybody could check on us from the servers the only great thing happened. The bartender came to the garden and checked on everybody, offered us schnapps, calmed down. Later he appeared many times and took care of the all guests. Give this man a raise. He was the only who cared that night. The food finally came and it could be good, but after two hours of waiting it came COLD. They didn't bring one of the ordered meals and starters came at the same time as main courses. A group of guys who came at the same time as us (three people) finished their two-course dinner before we got any food. We wanted to see a city center but now it's almost 10 p.m. Service was the worst I've experience expect for, once again, amazing bartender. A lot of other guests had problems with their meals, got things mixed-up and had to wait for ages. Most of the people's faces showed anger and you could see how annoyed they were. Good service and some information...

Stumbled upon this place as it was next to the Airbnb I was staying, and I couldn't be more happier. Was with a group of 4, seated inside. Staff was welcoming from the start and helpful for choosing the right dishes.

Restaurant has a wide selection of schnitzels and steaks to choose from. Several salads and also vegetarian options available. Food was served in a timely manner and portion were very large, all of us loved the meal the we chose.

Besides the food, what was also great was that they served their own beer (Hausbier) - which was very good. At the end of the evening they also gave us a complimentary blackberry liquer...

Da man auf jeden Fall Sterne vergeben muss, gebe ich einen Stern. Eigentlich hätte ich keinen vergeben. Wir hatten am 24.09. telefonisch einen Tisch für den 11.11. zum Martinsgansessen für Mittags bestellt. Die Bestellung wurde angenommen, auch die Uhrzeit wurde bestätigt und unsere Telefonnummer für Rückfragen oder andere, unvorhergesehene Probleme abgefragt. Als wir am 11.11. zur bestellten Uhrzeit mittags ankamen, standen wir vor verschlossener Tür. Das Restaurant öffnete erst ab 16.30 h. Wir waren entsetzt und wütend. Sowas ist uns noch nie passiert. Man hätte uns anrufen können, wenn die Bestellung irrtümlich aufgenommen worden wäre, weil das Restaurant zu diesem Termin geschlossen ist. Hat man aber nicht. Gott sei Dank konnten wir kurzfristig noch einen Tisch im "Restaurant altes Rathaus" am Markt ergattern. Wenigstens war das Martinsgansessen gerettet. Nach dem Essen, nachmittags wieder zu Hause, habe ich sofort im Restaurant angerufen. Es war eine Dame dran, bei der ich mich beschwert habe. Sie konnte sich diese Panne nicht erklären, hat sich entschuldigt, war aber höflich. Dann hat sie mich mit dem Chef verbunden. Der konnte mir auch nicht erklären, warum diese Pleite passiert ist. Ich war der Meinung, dass er doch nachvollziehen könne, wer am 24.09. abends Dienst hatte und somit die Bestellung aufgenommen hatte. Damit war er gar nicht einverstanden, erzählte was von: ob er prüfen solle, welche unterschiedlichen Kulifarben die Mitarbeiter hätten usw. Zum Schluss legte er einfach auf. Ich war ausser mir. So kann man mit Kunden nicht umgehen. Es ist eine Unverschämtheit. Will man so zahlende Kunden gewinnen oder behalten? Uns sieht dieses Lokal...
