SHINTO Ramen — Restaurant in Leipzig

I actually love how this place is a mockery of anything that is Ramen, like so bad it actually seems intentional. The cheap chewy meat, the sprinkled pepper on top, the cold egg and the worst - the broth made from powder. It is like ordering pasta at a gas station. Do not buy any of the good reviews. This has been hands down the worst Ramen I have ever eaten. I totally get that you want to cash in on the hype of Ramen and limit the amount of taxes you pay by doing cash only. But at least try to be decent and not use the cheapest ingredients you can find and charge the same as any Ramen place in Berlin or Amsterdam. This is spitting into the face of Japanese food. Honestly, I don't even know where to start. Everything was perfect, for my taste. We've been there too early for our reservation but got treated with hot Jasmin tea for that time. The food was amazing and this whole restaurant is so authentic! Also, the portions are huge for that prizing- We had Edamame, wakame salad and 2 ramen dishes. Shinto Ramen is a very cosy place with an outdoor seating area. The menu is limited to a few options per category which resulted fresh and fast preparation. During our visit, we enjoyed the miso and spicy ramen along side two onigiri. The miso ramen was smooth and creamy. The spicy ramen was also very enjoyable, and not too hot. I especially liked the tiny chili threads on top. I would recommend a visit to any ramen lover...
