Spizz — Restaurant in Leipzig

Very DISCRIMINATING place, we were not allowed to enter the bar, because we did not have European passports, we were stopped down the stairs as if we were criminals, just for not being European, our German friend tried to talk to the guard and when we showed our IDs we were not allowed to enter. An apparently Latino worker talked to his boss to allow us to enter, I appreciate his help, but the previous discrimination was already too much. We are qualified health personnel, working in Germany with a work visa, legally. I DO NOT RECOMMEND coming to this place if you are not European because they will discriminate against you if you do not have a European Union passport. It was very sad, frustrating, our German friends left the place with us out of respect, as it was very humiliating. Was walking around looking for a late dinner bite after watching a concert at Gewandhaus Orchester. Thankful to spot this place - there were many people eating and chatting at the al fresco area.

We ordered Spizz Special Burger €13.50 and Fruchtiges Hahnchencurry (fruity chicken curry) €13.90. Service was good and fast (the waiter who took our order and bill was pleasant, polite, responsive; another waiter who served our food was also pleasant and polite), food also came quite quickly in 10-15mins. Food was tasty and portions good, although the burger was only slightly warm instead of hot. Would have also liked if the chicken curry with basmati rice came piping hot.

Every foreigner should be careful. We have bought tickets but once you get out from the club. You should be careful. A friend of mine didn’t get back in again. The reason why he didn’t get in was he apparently copied the stamp. Which was not true. He waited calmly for the security to come up but he refused to come up. Even me as a German citizen who have tried to calm the security down. Refuses and raged over us. I have spoken calmy to them but neither way they have refused to help. Even the cashier didn’t wanted to help because she was off! That’s at least the excuses she was mentioning.To every foreigner who might visit that club. Be careful!!!!!!!
