Excellent food. And service was good.
I am originally from Melbourn, where we are blessed with very good restaurants. Indian restaurants there are amazing. Tandoori restaurant is as good as any of them.
We also have had takeaway from here as well. It does seem a bit expensive but I think the servings are larger than dine in. We fed 6 for dinner, and 5 for a nice size lunch the next day.
We will certainly be going again.
Actually, maybe not.
Bought take away today again. But this time I can now understand some of the negative reviews. The food itself was good. But this time the service was the disappointment. When ordering the ban said 15 minutes. I said all good as I was going to Tegut, so 20 minutes would be ok. I got back in 25 minutes but still had to wait another 10 minutes. Had he said 30 minutes at first I would not have rushed the shopping. When I voiced my dissatisfaction, he got a little rude. They had got very busy, most tables were full but the one man was the only person dealing with everything out front. He was obviously stressed and struggling on his own. Maybe he had staff call in sick, but I think because of similar negative reviews and experiences posted the restaurant just isn't managed that well in regard to staffing. Which is a pity as they seem to full often, their prices are on the high side, so sourcing good staff in the appropriate numbers should not be a financial burden for them. So enduring negative feedback, mainly on the service side, seems unnecessary. I will probably go back, because I like their food, but I will do it when time is not...
Read moreI went with three other friends today to tandoori restaurant in Marburg today. Balti gosht was good. However, when we didn’t like the malai kofta and mentioned it to the server, he got offended and said he doesn’t speak English so just speak in german! One of us did speak to him in German and yet he kept arguing that it is how malai kofta is made and it is unfortunate if we didn’t like it. It was disrespectful. One should take criticism as well as they take praise.
Reply to the owner,
Yes it is sad how you are unable to take criticism. The fact that I said good to a dish (balti gosht) and then mentioned that malai kofta was not up to the mark is proof in itself that I am giving an honest opinion. I feel sorry for you that you don’t have the courage to take it in good spirit and improve upon your dish. Moreover, yes, it is not required to speak English in a restaurant but the way your server spoke was disrespectful and a guest should not be made to feel that way. Lastly, the friend you’re talking about who didn’t understand the german menu is the friend who is german and spoke to your waiter in german aswell so if she didn’t understand the menu then I don’t...
Read moreSuper disappointed with the service. The worst experience i had among the Indian restaurants I've been in Germany. It took an hour and half for our food to arrive. The service staff is hardly to be found. Felt like they don't care about the customers.
The worst part is that you could see the customers that came after you had gotten their food served well before our order came through even though we had given our order well before. The interaction with the staff was not pleasant at all. This will be my last time here.
The food, even if it were delicious it was ruined by the experience, so I have no...
