Kelly's — Restaurant in Memmingen

We went here during our stay in Memmingen. The atmosphere was nice and despite the busy weekend evening, they managed to squeeze us in somewhere. Really nice food options and a refreshing amount of vegetarian & vegan options too (something we'd struggled with during our trip). The wait staff was generally friendly and helpful.

We've had some issues with our order though: We'd both ordered vegan options, one of them was a vegan highland stew. I was about to tuck in when it came, but decided to double check with the waitress because it looked very meaty and it turned out they'd sent me the non vegan option. They apologised profusely and said they'd bring a new dish, which came a while later (it tastes decent, but lacked sauce compared to the other meal). When we got to paying, we wondered about the high bill, and then realised they had charged for the stew twice - again the waitress was very sorry, friendly, and helpful and we got it sorted at the end. I get that this can happen on a busy night, so I'm not knocking off any stars, but I'd suggest to the restaurant to maybe re-name their vegetarian & vegan options, so it's easier to hear the names apart in the loud space and not accidentally find yourself...

The ambiance of Kelly's is really quite special. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a very friendly and handsome blond gentlemen that showed us to our table and took our order. We did not have to wait long to recieve our order, and it was delicious. The steaks were prepared well, perfectly cooked, and the Triple Chocolate Brownie almost made us climax while sitting at the table. Tolles Ambiente, aber Essen naja. Ich war mit meiner Begleitung an einem Donnerstag Abend dort. Parkmöglichkeiten hat das Restaurant selber keine, in der Nähe kann man aber bequem in der Stadthallen-Tiefgarage parken. Generell ist der Besuch eines Irish Pubs vielleicht ohne Auto eh besser :-) Das Ambiente ist wirklich toll, es läuft passende Musik im Hintergrund, sehr gemütlich. Ich kann mir gut vorstellen, dort einen ganzen Abend mit guten Freunden zu verbringen. Das Essen fand ich aber nicht so gut. Ich hatte das Krabbensandwich; das ist natürlich Geschmackssache aber ich würde es wohl nicht mehr bestellen. Auch in Anbetracht des Preises; ohne zusätzliche Beilage wäre ich nicht satt geworden. Meine Begleitung hatte Fish & Chips; hat wohl geschmeckt wobei die Fisch knuspriger paniert hätte sein können. Voll überzeugt hat sie dafür der Cheesecake. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, aber doch etwas langsam. Es war nicht viel los im Pub, dennoch hat es über 10 Minuten gedauert, bis die leeren Teller abgeholt wurden und wir ein Dessert bestellen konnten.

Fazit: Gerne werde ich wieder hingehen. Aber das Krabbensandwich werde ich nicht mehr versuchen. Vielleicht ja die Burger, die es auch gibt oder einfach vorher was essen und das Geld in Getränke...
