Very good beer house conveniently located near near the H4 hotel. If that is where you are staying, than spend the extra 15 minute to walk here instead of going to the mall for the start of your Munich Beer house experience.
The food quality is definitely up there with the larger names in downtown Munich (the ones with tend of thousands of reviews). The pork knuckle was VERY tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, one of the best I've had around this city.
The pork roast was tasty but not the most flavorful when compared to the other 6 beer houses that I've visited by the end of this trip.
What makes it 5 stars is that the staff was more friendly than the busier places in the middle of the city.
We started off our adventure here first so our beer house literacy was not that high at the beginning. The staff nonetheless was very patient and spoke English and made some good recommendations and explained what item was and even which cut of meat it was from!

Read moreA really friendly wirtshaus, with a large amount of indoor seating space.
The food was fresh and had very large portions. I found the menu slightly difficult to read, as some of the menu options were a bit vague and others were very detailed. The food was not all to my taste in the end, however I wouldn’t downrate based on my personal taste. The pretzels were gorgeous and I could have eaten my body weight in those alone.
The staff were friendly and accommodating, the decor was unusual but very nice! Everything seemed clean and tidy. The service was prompt after the order was taken, thought there was a slight wait before the menus came and orders placed. I think there are a high number of regulars and they take priority slightly.
I would come back for drinks and pretzels! My partner...
Read moreThis is a fantastic classic Bavarian Wirtshaus with a beautiful Biergarten, excellent food prepared to a high standard and of course delicious German beers. Highly recommended if you want to sample a true German local where the locals really go.
The staff are all very friendly and will accept your basic attempts at German with a smile. The menu has some unique local offerings as well as the classics you expect. I can highly recommend the Weisswurst (white sausage) which comes from a local butcher. Pairs very well with a classic Weizen (wheat beer), or the special Kellerbier that was on tap when we visited. There is an English menu if you can’t brave the German menu - but this is by no means a “tourist-only” restaurant.
Definitely worth your time for a real local experience with...
