BOMBAY PALACE - Indisches und Tandoori Grillspezialitätenrestaurant — Restaurant in Munich

To keep it short and detailed here is a little review of my experience in Bombay Palace from tonight: I had a voucher from the B-MY 2022 booklet, to be told that if we use this voucher we have to pay by cash. Why would they not take card in this transaction when card transactions are possible? It is very clear to me that they are not putting these down in they books officially, because on the voucher it didn't state that only cash allowed when using a voucher. Especially when no where on the internet does it state that cash is needed if using a voucher, and neither of us had any cash on us, so it put us in a really difficult situation. The waitress didn't tell us about the above cash situation in a 'normal' manner, but rather, took our order, walked over to the counter and from there shouted to our table across the other side to tell us this. I found a staple inside my food, I didn't mention it in the restaurant as I still ate my food, but definitely something to be careful about if you do go there just in case. I know these things do happen in the kitchen sometimes, so it didn't bother me to the point of not eating but definitely made it a less enjoyable experience. The food portion was okay, and the taste was also good. I've had bigger and better quality Indian in Munich. Just for reference, I had their vegetable samosa, which wasn't that great, their Butter Chicken which was tasty but again, the portion wasn't as reasonable as in some other locations.

Overall, I wouldn't go there again as I am very disappointed about the service, the voucher cash payment situation and biting on a staple... OH and for some strange reason they also have Thai food...

We (four of my friends) used to visit this restaurant quite often for lunch. First of all they used to take long delay in serving the food (close to 90 minutes ) even though we are the only customers in that time!!!

During the last visit, I requested them saying "please make it as early as possible" to the owner. For that he came back and blasted me saying -

"I am the chef here and you Indians always have this problem and started comparing with Germans, blah blah."

I would have been completely fine if he has just said your request is not possible. Instead, he was completely rude and he went up to the mark where he just generalized and scolded my countrymen.

At least, have some sense to respect your countrymen and country. We don't come there to eat free food. More than anything else, " Respect your customers".

We had heard enough and we just walked out of the restaurant. And, it will be my last visit (period).

Wir haben uns als Gruppe (4 Personen) einen Gutschein über Groupon erworben. Dieser beinhaltete eine Linsensuppe mit Naan Brot als Vorspeise. Beim Hauptgang konnte man wählen zwischen Chicken Korma oder Chicken Masala. Nachspeise war ein Mangoeis mit Kokuscreme. Danach folgte noch ein Mangosekt als Abschluss. Der Preis insgesamt betrug statt den üblichen 126 Euro, nur noch 54.90. So... jetzt zu den einzelnen Speisen:

Die "Linsensuppe" war einfach nur heißes Wasser mit etwas Telofix und vielleicht noch einem Schuss Sahne. Dafür mind. 1 Kilo salz. 0 von 5 Sternen! Das Naan Brot war ganz in Ordnung... aber in Vergleich zu anderen Indern wo wir zum essen gehen leider auch nur max. 2 Sterne wert. Die Hauptspeise... was soll man groß sagen. Zum einen war es schon mal alles Putenfleisch und kein Huhn... zum anderen war die Soße wieder nur eine dünne Flüssigkeit bestehend aus Wasser und keinerlei Gewürzen. Eine abolute Frechheit. Das "Chicken" Masala war essbar. Aber geschmacklich nur noch langweilig. Wer schon mal gut indisch essen war freut sich auf ein geschmachserlebnis aus Gewürzen und und und... Hier leider absolut Fehlanzeige. Und was bitte ist mit dem Reis da drin??? Kein schöner Gelber Reis wie man es beim Inder kennt. Keine Nelken oder Karamon Kapseln... Eher ein Reis wie man ihn beim Chinesen bekommt... Hauptspeise zusammengefasst: 1 Stern! Die Nachspeise war ganz in Ordnung. Allerdings waren wir zu diesem Zeitpunkt schon richtig enttäuscht.. Naja... aber kann man mit 2 Sternen bewerten. Der Sekt zum Schluss... Gut kann man nicht viel falsch machen... Sekt mit Mangosaft. Keinerlei Deko... einfach lieblos... 2 Sterne.

Zum Service und Ambiente:

Service war sehr unfreundlich. Am Anfang schon genervt, weil wir nicht sofort wussten was wir trinken wollten und nicht sofort das Essen von den 2 Gerichten ausgesucht haben. Nach der Hauptspeise wurde in die Runde gefragt: "Wem gehört dieses essen"? (War von meinem Freund, der es nicht aufgegessen hat weil 1. Putenfleisch und 2. Einfach nicht gut...) Er antwortete: "Mir" Bedienung: "Aha... und Vegetarier oder was" "war es nicht gut"? Wir haben dann ehrlich unsere Meinung gesagt, und naja... von da an wurden wir nur noch böse angeschaut... Zum Schluss kam noch die Rechnung für Getränke die wir auserhalb des Gutscheins hatten. Hier brauchte die gute Frau die Hilfe Ihrer Kollegin (denke auch es war die Tochter) die mit TASCHENRECHNER pro Paar 2 Getränke adieren musste... Unglaublich...

Das Ambiente... Offene Lüsterklemmen an den Decken... Toiletten nicht sauber... Und dann immer wieder Werbung über Lautsprecher statt indischer Musik...

Leider muss ich hier überhaupt 1 Stern geben, aber das ist schon Schmeichelhaft...
