I had an extremely disappointing visit to Cocos restaurant recently. The level of attention provided by the staff was shockingly poor. Not only was the service slow and inattentive, but it also seemed like the staff couldn't care less about the customers' needs.
The quality of the food was equally horrendous. The chicken I ordered was terribly cooked—dry and tasteless. What's worse, it seemed like the chicken might not have been properly cooked, posing a risk of harmful bacteria. This blatant disregard for food safety is unacceptable and puts customers' health at risk.
To top it all off, the lack of transparency was concerning. They accepted cash payments but failed to provide any receipt or proof of transaction. This raised doubts about their integrity and left me wondering if they were trying to evade taxes or hide something else.

Disappointing Experience at Cocos:
The overall quality of the food was average, but what really ruined the experience was the extremely rude and unprofessional behavior of the lady at the counter. Additionally, the restaurant only accepts cash, with no clear signage indicating this — which can leave customers in an awkward situation when it's time to pay.

“Cocos – Wo Tradition und Fortschritt auf Abstand gehen”
Es gibt Dinge, die ich mir 2024 kaum noch vorstellen kann: ein Leben ohne Smartphone, das Überleben eines ICE ohne Verspätung – und asiatische Lokale ohne Kartenzahlung. Doch „Cocos“ hat mich eines Besseren belehrt.
Hier lebt man die gute alte Barzahlung, als wären wir in einer Zeitkapsel stecken geblieben. Und seien wir ehrlich: Nichts sagt „moderne Gastronomie“ so sehr wie das Hantieren mit Bargeld, bevor das nächste Essen mit derselben Hand serviert wird.
Ein hygienischer Alptraum, der sich wohl als „authentisch“ verkaufen will.
Doch gut, der Mensch kann über vieles hinwegsehen, wenn das Essen stimmt. Leider bleibt einem bei „Cocos“ eher das Lachen im Hals stecken.
Die Nudeln, für ein paar Euro mehr als die Reisgerichte, hätten vielleicht noch gerettet werden können – mit ausreichend scharfe Soße oder einem Wunder. Doch die Ente? Die schien eine Diät aus Heißluft zu bevorzugen, beidseitig trocken wie ein alter Schuh.
Die Süß-Sauer-Soße war mehr Suppe als Sauce und wurde lieblos auf den Teller gekippt.
Immerhin: Sauber war es. Doch Sauberkeit kann nicht alles wettmachen – schon gar nicht das Personal, das offenbar einen Kurs in Freundlichkeit erfolgreich gemieden hat.
Kleine Empfehlung ans „Cocos“: Vielleicht braucht es weniger Nostalgie und mehr Innovation. Und wenn wir schon beim Thema Fortschritt sind – wie wäre es mit Kartenzahlung? Schließlich sind wir nicht mehr in 1994, sondern 2024.
