EATapaS Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Munich

This review is in regards to the service only because we didn’t stay long enough to try the food.

Pretty disappointed because I was very excited to try this restaurant with my husband. We did not have a reservation and you could tell the host was not pleased with that. This just happened- it is a Friday night and it was relatively busy. She did seat us at an open table with 3 place settings and it was very helpful that she could speak English since we cannot speak German (which I’m assuming is another reason we were treated so poorly). That’s fine except she never came back again.

We waited for over 10 minutes and were completely ignored. She even sat down at a table with her friends and was on her phone. The server also ignored us- but she was pretty busy. I finally got the attention of the host to ask for a menu... maybe they just forgot about us? She told me to “chill. Chill. It’s good.”

No it wasn’t good. It felt extremely rude so we left at that point which I’m pretty sure was their goal and they succeeded. Pretty unfortunate the service was so terrible because a lot of the reviews about the food were so positive! I guess we will never know. Last night in Munich and it sadly ruined it.

I’ll go ahead and assume the issue was that we are tourists and didn’t have a reservation so instead of just turning us away or asking us to sit at the bar they decided to pretend we didn’t exist. Message received...

I've heard so many positive reviews about this place, so I've decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it never came to trying out the Cousine, as the staff was exceptionally rude. After some struggle to find a waitress to be seated, me and my companion were given a seat outside on the terrace right in the middle of a loud and smoking group of people. I've asked the waitress to please find us a table on the side (there were about 10 free tables around), but she rudely refused, saying that these table are all reserved. All suggestions to find an alternative solution such as placing a table a bit aside were denied as well. As a reaction to me complaining, that I would not be able to enjoy the lunch in the smoke cloud, the waitress just raised her shoulders briefly and silently went away. I can't explain how angry that made me. I've never seen such rudeness in any other Munich...

Das "Café am Gollierplatz" gibts nicht mehr, hier ist vor ein paar Monaten das "EATapas" eingezogen. Schöner Name, tolles Lokal! Holz, petrolfarbene Wände, spanische Fliesen, ein großes Weinregal und als Highlight in der Mitte des Raumes eine Glückskastanie, um die ein Tisch gezimmert wurde. Die Raumluft war gestern angenehm, aber es wird sehr laut. Spanisch halt, wenns man wohlwollend betrachtet. Was wir leider überhaupt nicht gut fanden, war die weibliche Bedienung: mürrisch, maulfaul, räumt den Tisch nicht ab, zieht die ganze Zeit eine Lätschen, als wär sie hier versklavt worden. Deshalb und weil auf meiner Rechnung das große statt des kleinen Glases Wein stand, auch nur 3 statt 4 Sternen. Der junge Mann mit dem strahlenden Lachen fiel hingegen mit seiner offenen und freundlichen Art sehr positiv auf.

Nun zu Speisen & Getränken: es gibt ca. neun moderne, warme Tapas und ebenso viele klassische, außerdem eine kleine Vitrine mit. ca. 8 kalten Tapas wie Tunfischcreme, Tomaten-Peperoni-Salat oder Rote Bete-Apfel-Salat. Jedes Schälchen kostet € 2,90. Die o. g. Bedienung schaute wegen meiner Frage so genervt, dass ich anregte, Schildchen aufzustellen mit den Namen der Tapas. Sie meinte sie nur: "Die wechseln jeden Tag!". Achso.

Ich aß "Pimientos de padron" (die Bratpaprika mit Meersalz): gute Portionsgröße für € 4,90, aber stellenweise zu angebraten und bitter. Danach "Datteln im Speckmantel" (€ 4,90) - ein Traum. Und dann noch "Gebeizten Lachs aus Bete-Carpaccio und Kresse" (€ 6,90): das war ein bisschen langweilig, weil der Lachs nach Supermarktverpackungslach­s schmeckte.

Im Großen und Ganzen waren alle anderen zehn Gäste auch von den Speisen inkl. Weißbrot angetan. Schade nur, dass bei so wenig Gerichten auch noch eins, nämlich die "Zucchiniröllchen mit Tomaten-Frischkäse", nicht mehr verfügbar war.

Die Getränkekarte enthält nur drei offene Rotweine, davon einen aus Spanien. Mit € 2,60 / 0,1 l bzw. € 5,20 / 0,2 l war er preiswert und gut. Von 18 bis 20 und ab 23 Uhr ist Happy Hour, in der die Cocktails € 2 weniger kosten.

Die super gemachte Homepage ist auch einen Besuch wert. Allerdings könnte man noch an den Antworten auf in ganzen Sätzen inkl. Grußformeln gesendete Reservierungsanfragen arbeiten: "Reservierung steht" ist keine höflich formulierte Rückmeldung.
