TLDR: We left due to significantly reduced menu, poor atmosphere, terrible drinks and some rude staff. FULL COMMENTARY: My family and I were looking for a place for dinner and a cold beer to beat the 36C temps and wondered upon Alla Grande. The waitress that sat us didn't speak English but was very sweet and we all worked through the language barrier. We attempted to order a pizza and salad for my partner and I and a pasta dish for our preschooler only to have the waitress tell us, after checking with someone else, that it was "a pizza day" so pizza was the only menu option. We tried to work with this and asked for another few moments to decide at which point our beers arrived, warm, flat and tasting terrible. We decided we'd leave and look for another spot after being told an Italian restaurant with pasta on the menu didn't have any available for our little one. Upon going to pay our bill a man - maybe the manager (?)- looked at me and rudely asked "Just two beer?". When I acknowledged the fact he called our sweet waitress over and proceeded to speak to her quite aggressively while gesturing in my direction. Obviously, I can't speak to the quality of the food, since they bafflingly slashed their menu mid-week to about eight items that we didn't order - but the atmosphere was dark and dingey, staff rude (except the sweet, young, brown-haired waitress) and menu inexcusable. I would NOT recommend Alla Grande to anyone looking for a place to dine when in Munich. Unless you like restaurants that don't have 90% of the menu available, offer beer equivalent to urine and are apparently rude to staff and...
Read moreHorrendous attitude towards customers. Check your bill. You might be overcharged for pizza or even for something you didn't order. In my case it was 2 euros more for pizza (compared to the prices online) and instead of beer I had wine for 5 euros on the bill. When I went back to the restaurant to inquire about these discrepancies, I was told that the pizza was of different size(they have only one size pizza) and that this particular beer(Peroni) costs same as wine because it's from Italy. They couldn't provide a price list to verify this cost, meanwhile, all their remaining beer assortment goes for 3,90, even Corona, which is imported from Mexico. If I order beer I expect to have it on the bill not something else. Rather unpleasant experience and shady scheme of operation going on there. Food was ok, but I'm definitely never going back after I was scammed and shouted at for their mistakes. They have good reviews and it seems they take it for granted judging how they treat (potential) customers.
Also, what about this absolutely ridiculous and made up rule that you can pay with a card only starting from €25. Hello, it's 2020 in the middle of pandemic, contactless payments should be a priority with no...

Negative: Service Quality of the food
Do not understand the hype! It started very well, with friendly service and a good table. Nice italian atmosphere (very loud, but still ok). Ordered one of the premium Pizzas (Audi R8, with rucola, Parma, parmesano reggiano...). We waited long, but we knew it would take some time, so it was ok. We enjoyed the atmosphere. When the Pizza was ready, I was told, that they had no rucola left and offered me to put spinach instead. I said no, so I got the Audi R8 without rucola. Eating the pizza, I noticed the Parma did not taste well. I asked the waiter and he said it was Parma... only when I asked again, he confessed that parma was out and they put smoked ham. Expected premium, paid premium, got average.
Summary: Waited long for a premium pizza, did not get what I ordered, was only told after asking twice and paid the premium pizza, even though what I got was not premium at all. No real apologies, no price reduction and no grappa or coffe to say sorry. I do not care about the 2-3 eur difference, but I do not like being treated as a...
