Emmi's Brunch Club — Restaurant in Munich

We got the Emmi and the American pancakes for brunch. The Emmi mixed platter was a nice surprise of tofu scrambled egg, their seed bread (which is delicious), 2 spreads and a lovely coconut reismilch. All in all a nice diverse and tasty platter that I can recommend. The pancakes were rather disappointing. After seeing so many delicious photos online we had high hopes for the pancakes. They were sadly undercooked and tasted of baking soda/baking powder which can happen if you try to get them so fluffy and thick. The trick is to get fluffy pancakes that are fully cooked and you don’t overdo the baking powder. We thought that maybe we only got a bad batch but the ppl next to us on both sides had also ordered them and in the middle of the pancake stack you could see that they were undercooked.

To parents: we had heard that they have a play corner and have seen a lovely photo online. We were unpleasantly surprised to find out that the play corner is only on weekdays and on the weekend it’s removed to make room for more seating. The small room is extra crowded on weekends and definitely not...

Update 31. May 2025: (based on 5 visits in the last three months)

Service is ‘variable’. Sometimes very attentive. Sometimes you have to wait twenty minutes. And sometimes you get a grumpy reaction ’wait until we have seated you’ – even after admitting that the sign ‘wait to be seated is just now being written. It really depends on who is there. That is not unusual, but the difference is huge.

Only the great food keeps it at three ⭐️

Update 24. June 2024: The quality of the Espresso varies from quite good (see below) to less than mediocre. Still not as bad to my taste buds as ‘modern’ (Third Wave) Espresso, but too often nearly tasteless with little Crema.

Finally a decent (dark roast) coffee in my neighborhood again. So if you like the third wave stuff, this is not the right place (but there are enough other new coffee shops popping up like mushrooms).

Another plus (for me): vegan food (though I am not exclusively eating plant based food, I like it – especially if it is this good).

I'm not impressed. I came here for brunch on a Sunday morning and ordered the American Pankakes. What brought me here were the good reviews.

Positive: Staff was friendly and sat me quickly ( but outside, no spaces inside).

Negatives: Service was okay, took a bit too long to come to me to order and when I ordered they delivered my pancakes to someone else in front of me that just ordered them (when I had ordered them 15 min ago). They apologize for the mistake, though. Pancakes look better than they tasted. Swrved in a good amount but not tasty. They were somehow too dry in the middle, and once the syrup ended, I couldn't finish it. The tea was fine. Seats outside were hard, and I was only given a seat cushion after being...
